We have bought 3 of these X800 DVD players from Best Buy. The first one we bought in 11/2017 and it still works like a champ. the 2nd one we bought 10/2018 and it lasted only 2 years. The 3rd one we bought in 10/2020 as a replacement for the 2nd one. It lasted less than 3 months. The last 2 have had the same issue where it works fine in the beginning and then it just freezes up. We tried everything; unplug it/wait/replug it in, reset the unit through the menu, plug it in to a different outlet, disconnect the internet, plug it into a different TV,... and it still won't work. Like I said, this is the 2nd unit that has had the same failure. It stops responding to the remote and won't play a DVD (which is what we bought the unit for). All of our A/V equipment (multiple TV's, sound bars, DVD players, receivers, etc...) are Sony, and are all new within the last 3 years and all purchased at Best Buy. I'm very disappointed that this is a constant issue with the DVD player. To add insult to injury, we have been trying to call Best Buy customer support for the last two days to ask about this and no one ever answers. We have spent 7-8 thousand dollars on all our equipment, and we were hoping that we would be treated better than this. Best Buy has lost us as a customer over this.

So far so good. Decent picture and sound. This is a replacement of an older version of the same player which only lasted two years. Hopefully I'll have better luck with this one.

Great HD 4K player. This player can play almost every format in dvd and CDs. A great addition to a home entertainment system with 4K HDR and multi format sounds.

Works as advertised. Does nice job with all DVD’s - normal DVD’s, Blueray and 4k

The product is very new and at this time haven't been able to experience its value as the necessary connection are routed

I bought this for the ease of having built-in wifi for system upgrades, which works out great. Only wish it diplayed the time duration played/left when putting a disc on pause.

I’m happy with my purchase. I bought it to play my cds on my new stereo system. It works great I expect nothing less from the pioneers of the cd.

Works very well with the Sony A95K television we purchased. no issues getting it to work well.

I had a 4 k dolby vision blu- ray player from another brand, recently bought a Sony z9f model tv and wanted a better uhd and dolby vision Blu-ray player from Sony. This is a excellent player and I highly recommend it!

Great product, had a Sony player previously that lasted 10+ years so wanted to buy another Sony player.

Couldn’t be happier…. I consulted the stores garu and he spent time breaking down the differences between the TV sets. I ended up ordering the same Sony he said he had in his home.

Great Blu-Ray player! Discs start quickly. The interface is simple and uncluttered. I haven't tried many of the apps, but the ones I have tried are fast. Playing videos from USB also works well.

One of the best players I’ve ever purchased. This was a gift. I bought one and decided to sent the same one to my friend in NY. Fabulous.

Awful player, do not buy. Worked well initially, but started to have issues with movies freezing and sound cutting out. Tried different fixes but still doesn’t work. Not worth paying this much just to have your movies freeze and kill the vibe.

I like it, plays well. Nice and simple design. Integrates well with my other Sony equipment.

Considering all of the great Blu-ray players are no longer made ie: Oppo, this is the best alternative.

This player is magic, thank you Sony. One of the best for my point of view is the Bluetooth connection and connect a headphone to watch a movie. The menu is very complete. Really the model you need today in Ultra HD.

-The home front is simple, gorgeous, exactly what I wanted. -The settings layout is exceptionally concise. (I like to make a few changes depending on the format I’m playing) -Of course, viewing is a pleasure.

Great, inexpensive DVD player. My first Sony Blu-Ray player and I like it. Easy to use, slim line and great picture quality. Pricing is excellent on this model - I would highly recommend it.

The Sony UBP-X800 Streaming Ultra HD Hi-Res Audio unit is very comprehensive for those who need this high level of technology. It was well beyond my personal needs, so returned it for something smaller and simple to use.
