    Sony doesn’t miss with this 4K UHD Player. One feature that I would ask to fix would be the option to select Dolby Vision as you need to switch it either ON/OFF. A small nuisance but overall a great piece of equipment.

    I used it a hand full of times and it stopped working after 6 months. All the brands make such low quality products that it no longer makes sense to buy them. May as well just stream it. And for the record prefer Sony over LG and Samsung, so this isn’t a review I was planning to make. Save your money.

      press power on the remote or the player. Please follow these steps:
      Turn off the player and disconnect the AC
      power cord (mains lead). Wait for more than
      2 minutes, and then reconnect the AC
      power cord (mains lead) and turn on the
      player.

    The Player blacks out when playing a DVD. The volume control does not work.

    3 months into owning it, it stops playing mid-movie. Sometimes it starts again, sometimes not.

    No front panel display, very slow response (>10 sec) to command, emits hi frequency buzz on 7.1 channel audio, does not store memory on partially watched disc...

    It's okay. However, it automatically turns off sometimes after you have paused the player.

    I needed a new DVD player, there was no one around that wanted to help. I asked one person where the DVD was and he instruct me. There was one employee who wanted to talk with his friend not to ask how I can help you. I figured it out myself what I needed. I’ve had better experience than this. My choice was limited where to get aDVD player.

    Would freeze playing DVD movies

    After watching 4 or movies on the Sony - UBP-X800M2 - Streaming 4K Ultra HD Hi-Res Audio Wi-Fi Built-In Blu-Ray Player - Black, I returned it. When I rented 2 or 3 Blu-Ray movies, the player worked flawlessly. However, when my wife rented 2 DVD (non-Blu-Ray) movies, they would freeze on the player. This was unacceptable and I had to return it within my 2 weeks. The sad thing is I had a 10 year old Blu-Ray player that worked flawlessly but I wanted a 4K player so I threw my good one in the trash. One of the worst mistakes I made in a long time. No, I would not recommend this player. That's what I get for not doing research on this player.

    Not the best picture and sound quality. Streaming apps are minimal only limited to 3 apps unlike other Sony blu ray players that I have owned in the past

    This blurry player was a replacement for one that was unable to load Prime Video. This new one we had installed cannot load Prime Video either!!! Additionally, you cannot install additional apps on this device. We are disappointed.

    keeps freezing up,best buy will not take it back less than 2 months,cant tell differnce with cheap blue ray than this when it does work.

    This unit turns itself off if you pause it for more than 20 minutes, making it useless to me. Can't return it because I don't have the original box anymore so I'm stuck with it. Going to give it away and buy an LG or Samsung or any player that doesn't turn itself off.

    The DVD part is nice but this unit fails on sound as there is no dolby atmos support

    Fails to Play 4K Movies W/O Freezing

    I've had constant freezing issues while playing 4K titles that don't fail on other players. Sony is ignoring the issue when I speak to them. I don't think sending the player in for service will fix this issue. Sony appears to not be doing anything about it; highly disappointed.

    Defective Sony UBP-X800M2

    Very disappointed. I have had this unit about 30 days but it failed while playing only the third disc. It has gone completely unresponsive. I have had good experiences with Sony in the past, but my bad experience with this UBO-X800M2 will overshadow those memories. I’ll be returning this unit at my earliest convenience.
