Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased UBP-X800 three years ago from BestBuy. Since last 12 months it stopped working. Every time I insert a disk it did not recognize it and displayed No Disk message. I tried everything from updating the software to factory reset but nothing worked. I followed community weblogs but no luck. Today I contacted Sony customer support and they had no clue as why an expensive BD player is not recognizing the disk. I never had bad experience with my Cathode ray Sony TV or Sony Cyber Shot Camera. This time Sony failed to deliver a quality product

I have NEVER been a Sony fan but was talked into these based on the sales guy and reviews. My TV just shuts off randomly and this Blue Ray player has been so finicky......works some times....doesn't others. I now keep an older blu ray hoooked up so when the Sony doesn't work I at least have something to watch. Last night the Sony Blu Ray wouldn't power on, we unplugged it and plugged it back in and it powered up but then would not play the movie...tried 4 different movies never got it to work......sticking with my older Pioneer until I can find a Pioneer 4K

I called Sony to get it fixed and they refuse to try to do so. Sony products are trash, always have been and always will be. DO NOT BUY THIS BLU RAY PLAYER. YOU WILL REGRET IT

I took it into Best Buy and they told me that it would be Eighty Five dollars to be inspected.
