I loved the Sony ubp x800 and this upgraded version is even better. Great 3D..great picture..and the added bonus of being able to listen through the TV speakers and bluetooth headphones at the same time was a seller for me. The other was Dolby Vision..I highly recommend this player.

Best 4K player I have to date and the first player that I own with Dolby Vision available. Works great with my LG TV.

4K video player is very easy to use and videos look amazing. 4K UHD discs look fantastic of course, but even Blueray and DVD discs look amazing. The player does a fantastic job of upscaling to 4K. Older Bluerays and DVDs look better than ever.

Plays just about everything. Super Auido CD’s sound incredible and 4K UHD Blu-Rays look spectacular!

I bought this because i wanted lossless audio quality. I was not disappointed. Of course you will need receiver + the right audio set up. I immediately bought rambo 5 4k set. Played it on this and it sounded amazing.

Wow this DVD player works better than our last one. Easy to use and hook up. Video is clear.

Pros: Excellent picture. Syncs with Sony A9G 77in. TV Cons: Dolby Vision must be set manually. (I leave it on by default and turn it off for discs that do not support it. Must be connected to TV and audio sent by ARC or second HDMI out to receiver.

Players may not be used as much as we use to with streaming being more prevalent. These updated devices still come in handy for the Blu-ray and 4K archive just make sure you update your HDMI cable to enjoy the visual and audio quality you expect.

Overall it is a very good 4K blu-Ray player and is priced well at $299. The biggest issue is that it does not auto detect Dolby Vision HDR. Every time you play a DV 4K disc you have to go into the main player menu and turn DV on and turn it back off after you finish the disc. This is a major mis-step by Sony. Also if you want to use the player as your main streamer this is not a good option as it only has Netflix, Amazon & YouTube The picture and sound quality are very good and if you have a separate streaming box and are ok with setting the DV it is a good 4K blu-ray player

Bought open box excellent. Quality as described, and came in original packaging. Would never know that it was an open box product by looking at it. Works great!

Great universal CD/DVD/BD/UHD player for the money, with discrete IR codes for excellent control system integration.

One of the few universal players available today. If you have a collection of SACD/DVD-Audio disks then this is one of the most affordable options to replace an old player. My Oppo died and I needed a replacement. "New" old stock Oppos are available, but being price-gouged at $1500. For about $200 this player is a steal, but it appears to also have been phased out. If you need one, buy soon as it's not certain that Sony will continue to support even their SACD format in the future.

Excellent multi-format disc player. Good ergonomics, user friendly interface, gorgeous image quality. Using it entirely for disc playback. The on-board streaming apps are better served by a dedicated streaming device.

Amazing Sony UBP-X800M2 Blu-Ray player. I have really enjoyed watching 4k movies. It also plays non4k movies as well and upscales them. Worth the money.

This is a replacement for one that had issues when playing DVD's. It would stop the video and leave the audio on, or it would stop the audio and leave the video rolling, or it would stop completely for a few seconds then restart from the beginning, or it would stop and shut its self off completely and this would happen several times in a 10 minute time span that caused Me Great Stress and Irritation! The Geek Squad advised me that it would cost more to send it in for repair than to issue a refund for a new model. I did have to pay a little extra on top of the refund for this model, but it's performing admirably and has NO issues with DVD's, Blue Ray's, or 4K Ultra Disk's! It is exceptionally clear and the Dolby Atmos is also very impressive! I'm very impressed with this Upgraded unit and I Pray it does not develop any of the issues that the last one had.

I’m very techy so when it comes to buying technology for my home theater I research, research and research so more. This player would always be a result in the searches I did and I can see why. This player is remarkable for picture quality for 4K Blu-rays, Blu-rays and even up converting DVD’s. I bought this strictly for playing movies not for streaming. My streaming I use is an Apple TV 4K. The Sony X800M2 is very quiet, loads discs fast and looks great. I have no gripes about it, even having to enable Dolby Vision takes less then 10 seconds to do so I don’t find it a hassle to do like some have mentioned. My best advice for any product is research, research and research some more so you know you’ve getting some quality and will last. I got this while it was on sale for $200

This 4K player is this best one I ever owned to date. It literally plays any kind of discs. The picture quality looks amazing plus you get Dolby vision with any movie that has it. I highly recommend this player.

Seems to play any discs I’ve thrown at it so far. Only wish it had a display for seeing track numbers when I use it as a CD/SACD player without having to have the TV on to see track info. Otherwise, solidly built.

I have 50yrs of audio video experience and have owned many Sony Products including a 65in OLED A80 flat panel tv. This player has a substantial weight of 8lbs check out other players even more expensive ones and you'll see they are typically 3-5lbs. I also own a Panasonic UB9000 at about 20lbs, but it is nearly 3 times the money. You can't go wrong with this player. What I can't believe is how I ordered it online yesterday and it is here today! My Ku Du's for Best Buy being on the ball......
