When you view a 4K disc, you have the ultimate treat in picture quality definition. There is nothing that compares to the crystal clear spectrum of colors and pinpoint details that come alive like no other format. Blue Ray is good but second best compared to 4K. And the SONY 4K player is a top of the line 4K player as one would expect from a quality mfgr. Controls & remote are intuitive; straightforward and easy to use; no learning curve required. The discs load quickly w/o delay and picture quality is second to none. Although one could pay a great deal more for a 4K player, it is doubtful it could surpass the build quality, picture display, and dollar value of the Sony UBP X800 M2. Hours of research and reading "reviews" of all the 4K offerings boiled down to choosing the SONY.

This looks great and performs great. I've had an LG which was terrible and didn't display 4k videos that great. This is a huge improvement and works flawlessly with my Sony tv

The picture, sound, and color quality of this Blu-Ray player is amazing! I bought this Blu-Ray player so I could watch my Marvel movies in a high resolution without breaking the bank. I bought this player with the Sony -55" Class X80K Series LED 4K TV, and the Sony - HT-S400 2.1ch Soundbar with Subwoofer. I get all my Marvel movies on 4K Blu-Ray Disks. This setup will give you a fantastic, cinematic experience without breaking the bank.

This Blu Ray rocks. I have to add more characters to make this review matter. I hope this satisfies the criteria. Generally, less word make more of an impact...

Excellent Device. The quality of sound and video; and it is easy to set up and connect to many other devices in different brand. the structure of the body this player is so good. it run quietly.

Excellent 4K Blu-Ray player for the price. Picture quality is great. Be sure to pick up a high quality HDMI cable.

Picture and sound is great. I have two UBP-X800M2 and one UBP-X1000ES. Both UBP-X800M2 at times freezes playing UHD discs. Much more often than the UBP-X1000ES does. Sometimes the X800s power up with my Sony A95K TV and won’t display anything while the TV has no sound output! My opinion is Sony has very poor programming quality in many of their products!

bought because it will play anything I can think of dvd audio,sacd,bluray ,4k,cd,etc... no 8k though. picture and sound are awesome. good price for some thing that does so much. standard dimensions so it stacks and looks good in rack or stand

Had an old Sony with old technology. Utilizing a new 4K hdmi cable with my DVD player I cannot believe the quality of any movie that I lay in my new DVD player. Any movie looks fabulous!!

This newer model replaced , my older ubp x800 which had alot of issues , Sony added Dolby Vision on this model & fixed several issues , I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a nice 4K Bluray player .

We're so glad our Best Buy In Home Advisor recommended we upgrade our old Blu-ray player to this 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray player to match the new 4K HDR OLED TV we were also purchasing. It's apparent the mechanism is very high quality and, in combination with our new TV, the DVDs and Blu-ray DVDs in our existing library are upscaled and look so much better than before. We can't wait to see how the new 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray DVDs will look and sound through this new player.

Looked at a variety of Blu-Ray players before purchasing this one. Didn't need any of the features of the $500 models. This one is great for 4K movies. Audio quality is outstanding.

Great 4K upgrade from Blu-ray. It was a bit pricey but forth the money when paired with a 4K TV. The features are great and easy to follow. The audio options are fantastic and user friendly.

This player has an incredible picture quality and also does an outstanding job playing cd's. set up was easy and I had it connected to my AV receiver and playing movies in no time. I played the SOLO UHD movie and it played the sound track in Dolby Atmos which blew me away. Also did an outstanding job with incredible detail in the picture with the first Daniel Craig James Bond Movie Casino Royal. The sound was great even if it wasn't Dolby Atmos. Even my music CD's sound amazing with this player. Get it, you won't be disappointed.

A great little unit that is slim, easy to use and provides a great visual and sound whether playing a CD or upscaling a DVD, Blu Ray, or the 4k Ultra Blu Ray. My satisfaction is complete.

Easy set up and intuitive GUI makes navigating the settings easy. Picture and sound are wonderful for my Atmos systems I’m putting together. Can’t wait to use it to its full potential.

Excellent choice , the 4K format is awesome and set up with my new Sony Bravia OLED tv and sound bar makes it a theater quality experience .

Sturdy construction, quick loading,flawless playback. Even non 4K Blurays look amazing. Dual HDMI outputs can be useful. Entire setup took around 15 minutes.
