Great video and sound. Replaced a UBP-X700 (which is pretty great also) and the UBP-X800M2 responds a little bit faster and provides a little better picture. It does not have the apps and ability to add more like the X700, plus will not do screen mirroring. However it is a quicker responding and more stable unit than the X700 it replaced.

This player is deeper and heavier than my previous Sony Blu-ray player. I assume that is for the additional electronics need to be a multi-format player. That is the reason I purchased it, so I could play Dolby Atmos discs, as well as SACD and DVD-Audio. So far, it has handled the multiple formats well. I intend to use for both music and video.

One of the nicest and easiest 4K players to navigate around. Tons of onboard features and 4K movies load up fast.

So far so good. Plays 4K, Blue-ray and some burned DVD's. That's all we've tried so far. Linked into our Sony Sound Bar and Sony OLED TV. HDMI link controls everything with one remote.

Great DVD Player for those of us who still use them. I wanted to watch some movies not available on streaming services and some series that now cost money to stream. I got an LG to match my TV. It worked for 2 sessions and DIED! I took it back to BB. Even though I was outside the return period, they were nice enough to allow me to swap it for another model. I got Sony and have been happy ever since. This model works like a charm. Great picture and Sound. Could not be happier with the unit or the store.

Has great picture quality for a budget player! Dolby Vision is phenomenal! The biggest problem I have is that I can only play one 4K movie a day basically. The player gets over heated after 1 movie. When you finish a 4K movie and start another, the second film will only get about an hour in before the player gets too hot and stops playing. This is my second player and it does the same as the last one.

Great player, clear, precise pictures upscales older DVD to near 4K

This is the besk 4k player on the market. It is made by sony and is a sturdy item and has solid construction.

Player has a bit better pic and noticable improvement in audio over the Sony 700 player. If you can afford, definitely recomend.

We needed a new player to go with the new TV and sound system we bought and this player is just what was needed. The picture is crisp and the sound great.

I had to replace my old 4K Blu-ray player that I’ve had for a long time that died on me. I’m glad I was able to purchase this dvd player, even though it was over $200, it was very worth it, i needed it and it’s compatible with my 4K Sony smart tv. The set up was easy and not bad. The 4K display is beautiful and amazing. My 4K Blu-ray dvd player works even today. I hope this DVD player lasts me a very long time.

I enjoyed this player at first. Great picture quality and user interface. But I quickly noticed that my audio was analog into my preamp. Apparently the auto handshake for Dolby Atmos, which I don't have, defaulted to using the player's decoder for Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD. Now, which do I want decoding: my very expensive preamp or my $400 Blu-ray player? The only setting for the audio stream is auto or off (analog). You CANNOT set it to bitstream only (a very common feature on even first-gen Blu-ray players). So I returned this unit and got the Panasonic DP-UB820P and I can select bitstream-only independently for Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD! tl;dr Returned as I could not force unit to bitstream only for audio. Irrelevant if you have Atmos.

Love it! I have two! I needed to replace a Samsung player that had stopped playing some disks for no reason. Don't get me wrong, I have 2 Samsung TVs and a Samsung phone. But, when I needed a new blu-ray player I hit "buy it again." I even managed to get a great open box deal shipped to me. It was packed very well and the box on the inside had all the accessories still sealed in original plastic! It's simple to set up, very user friendly, and the picture and sound are fantastic! It's not cheap but doesn't feel cheap and it didn't cost an arm and a leg either... go for it.

This is a great UHD Blu ray player. This was an upgrade for me from a player that didn’t support Dolby vision. The audio is great as well as up converting 1080 blu ray videos.

I really like this blu-ray player. Very simple to operate and the quality surpasses anything Samsung makes.

Easy to setup, didn't install apps, connected to internet for upgrades then disabled WiFi. Provides a good picture.

This player has played every disc I have used so far -- DVD, Blu-Ray and 4k UHD Blu-Ray. If this player lacks anything, it is an array of streaming service apps to use. It only comes equipped with Netflix and YouTube, and doesn't appear to have an add-on feature. Unfortunately, I also do not have a TV with HDR10 or Dolby Vision, so I couldn't test the player's HDR10 and Dolby Vision settings for color and contrast accuracy.
