Great purchase. Excellent product that allows you to see 4K movies with outstanding cinema audio.

It was worth the wait for the newer model. With the added features it exceeds my expectations. The picture quality is excellent and the setup couldn’t be easier.

I got this DVD player to play my old SACD’s as well as 4K blue rays. Everything works as advertised and seamlessly with my Sony television!

Really like this player. One of the last affordable truly "universal" disc players. Plays DVD, Blue-Ray, DVD-Audio, and SACD. Built like a tank. The only thing I don't like is a lack of a front display on the player. You have to use the onscreen display feature to view disc info on your TV.

This product met all expectations and provides optimum sound quality and to TV and video applications. Set up and initial operation was quick using provided instructions.

I sought this model out over the lower-priced X700 because of its Bluetooth option, and in that alone it was worth the expense to cleanly connect to my headphones for late-night viewing. Play quality is also improved over my last 4K deck, with not only Dolby Vision (which, FYI, you have to manually turn off for non DV-enabled discs), and it's eliminated an annoying problem I was experiencing with the smearing of scenes with intense red lighting. The biggest downside is a lack of streaming options, with only Netflix, Prime, and YouTube built in with no apparent function to install more, but my TV already supplies whatever other apps I need.

Great player with great compatibility. If it's on an optical disc, outside of software and HD-DVDs, this player will play it. CD-Audio, SACD, DVD, DVD-Audio, Blu-Ray, 4K Blu-rays and probably more I'm not mentioning. Sony made a catch all for all your media discs with this guy. Also does Dolby Vision, which my Xbox doesn't do.

Great picture and setup was a breeze. The amount of apps and usb inputs was better than most of the competition. The 4k is amazing.

I always rely on Sony and this Blu-ray unit is wonderful. Glad I did the research on it — 4K is the way to go these days — now so affordable— and I’m not disappointed.

Very pleased with my new Blu-ray player. It is compatible with my new Sony Bravia TV and the colors and picture quality are excellent. Audio output is significantly noticeable Improvement for my surround sound system. Too bad they didn't put more manual control buttons on the front panel for the days you lose your remote control other than that it's heavy duty and well worth the money .

I purchased this 4K BluRay player to enhance my relatively new Sony 4K TV. The setup was so easy that I thought I was doing something wrong at first. No gnashing of teeth or hours of studying the owners manual. Just plug in and go. The picture and sound are phenomenal. And because both my TV and 4K player are Sony products, the TV remote works the BluRay and the BluRay remote works the TV. What a pleasure! Sony has really done their homework on this one.

Upgraded old Blu-ray after purchasing 4K television. Caught this on sale. Picture is sharp with super vivid colors. Player is a bit large so measure your space before buying.

This is the first Blu-Ray player that automatically recognized my 4K movies with on-screen note, playing them immediately both visually and with sound that perfectly matches the actors' lips. It also connected quickly with my home Wi-Fi, and did not require any firmware updates. I have a LOT of remotes, and it is so nice that this player seamlessly uses the same remote as my 4K TV. Large, sturdy cabinet is a plus, as is the convenient hardcopy 106 page manual that answers any questions I have.

This Sony 4k player is the top of the line in the Sony brand and is very easy to use and looks great with its sleek design

I recently bought a Sony 4K TV so I upgraded my Blue-Ray player while I was at it. This was a nice addition to my TV. It works great with my new TV and Sony soundbar.

The best way to describe this, I bought one for myself and then came back and bought another for my parents. Very easy to use and great quality.

I recently invested in a 4K setup. I have a region-free Sony UBP-X700 that capably served as my everyday player, but the X800M2 offers extraordinary clarity on my new Sony A8H TV. I haven’t acquired a sound system yet, so I cannot attest to the X800M2’s audio capabilities. The only issue I have with this player is minor — one of the foot pads is slightly smaller than the others and causes a wobble if the player is touched. It does not make a difference to playback, though, and it is an easy fix. I expect this player to surpass my expectations as my home theater system grows.
