I am an audiophile and have a lot of hi-res on DVD-Audio, SACD, and Flac files etc. This Sony can handle pretty much anything including MKV Video. Some of the more expensive competitors (Panasonic) can’t do this which is why I went this route. Very happy with it and highly recommended.

Sony said that was just too bad and wouldn't pay to fix. Interface is dated and streaming is limited to Netflix basically. Won't be buying another from Sony.

TV recognized it as a Sony Bluray Player (with the correct model X800M2). The Sony XBR (2019) OLED TV remote can control this device (where applicable - Bluetooth Remote may be required). Movie Quality is great. Streaming Media - DLNA Client - works well; however, the sorting of movies, does not work for me (I have 700 movie titles, and I have to hunt for directories because they do not appear first like it does on Samsung).

Picture and sound quality are awesome. I was drawn to the excellent build quality and solid chassis unlike some cheaper "plastic-y" alternatives from other brands. It also plays all discs (movies and music) I've thrown at it. Price is right for the features and build quality. I would definitely purchase again.

The picture quality is excellent but, the sound quality is why I gave this 5 stars. I noticed a huge difference in how impactful and dynamic everything sounded. I mean instantly. So happy with this purchase. Yes, I caught it on sale, but, I still thinks it's worth the asking price. I have already purchased a second one for my room.
