Nice 4K player for the money nice picture Easy to use get one

We've been using this new item for 1 month and so far, its like being at the movies, we have a Boise 5.1 surround sound to plug into and this new DVD player really works with it to enhance sound even more. Our 1st binge watch was the Hobbit Trilogy and the Lord of the Rings trilogy in 4k, a Christmas present for my husband. It was a a real treat on the new player, guaranteed!

Most of the time I watch dvds, but I bought this unit to watch a 4K ultra blu-ray disc and the results are very good. Video is great for an old movie. There are several settings to check for surround sound. My demo disc showed satisfactory and full surround sound for the unit. Also pleasantly surprised that it plays a region 2 disc. Remote commands very responsive too.

Purchased this Sony Blu-Ray unit to replace an older one of a different brand. The older unit wasn’t being supported with software upgrades any longer and had difficulty playing the newer blu-ray movies. Wow! What a difference. This unit delivers true to it’s description; great video and audio. Finally getting the picture and audio our TV and sound system were designed to deliver.

Great 4K DVD Player. Hi quality = incredible sound.

Good 4K unit however started to freeze functions frequently forcing me to unplug it to reboot. All my audio/video are attached to a Home Entertainment system including power management hence is a hassle to unplug any units. I like this Sony 4k model's features and performance I use my system every day and for long hours. Fortunately this happened during the extremely short time of the Store's Returns policy of 15 days !!! too short for those who don't use frequently like I do. I like to believe I just got a faulty unit so I returned. BestBuy replaced with a similar unit and I bought a 2 years Service Plan for the piece of mind. Best Buy didn't have in stock and I had to wait for the replacement shipped from California. My advice on electronics if you are a frequent user, use them as much you can within a Return or Warranty period, buy a Service Plan if the product is worth it. Have a back up unit to use if your main unit is on service or shipment of replacement. Sometimes electronic equipment need a break up time just like a brand new vehicle.

It is a great 4k dvd player, it does provide amazing images and easy to use for all ageas.

Easy setup, simple features quite useable, strong clarity

Got this after trying the Panasonic ub820. Panasonic was nice, but buggy/loud/had trouble streaming diff file types. Sony feels solid, pretty picture, quiet, good w diff types of media. Has some issues w poorly encoded AAC audio sometimes. I run it to an A9F so the Bravia sync is nice

I decided to go with this player as it also plays 4k bluy rays. I was very impressed with the easy of use, simple menu navigation and amazing 3D picture quality. The Sony UBP-X800M2 really does provide a better picture and better sound than the cheaper players. This player will help you get more performance and enjoyment from your discs, TV, and speakers.

Perfect as a designated 4k Blu ray player for my setup.

Nice build. Good price. I would have given 5 stars if Sony would make "Dolby Vision' automatic.

Investing in a new large 4K HDR OLED or like TV? Then this is a great companion at a reasonable price to maximize that investment if you will be keeping your disk collection. I have been very pleased. I haven't used the streaming feature as I already had a Roku streaming device that I use.

Incredible picture quality and sound! Way better than expected. I like the no front display as it makes the unit look sleek and clean!

The Blu-Ray player was simple to install. The image quality from it is fantastic!

Bought this player to go along with my 65” A80L and am extremely pleased. My 4Ks look great, and Dolby Atmos capability was a massive plus as well

Sony makes a good product. Great picture, simple controls and easy set-up.
