My ten year old Sony 3D Blu-ray player finally failed. This new one does all the same things the old did plus more. It has one Digital Coax input and two HDMI inputs. One is for HDMI video and audio and the other HDMI audio only. This not a Region free 4K UHD Blu-ray player just a plain old Region A player.

This player is an evolutionary advancement over my older Sony model. No new ground is broken. It plays well. Good quality images and sounds. The menu is simpler, less attractive and with fewer options than my older model too.

Excellent picture with Dolby picture and Dolby Atmos audio. For best result you need to purchase an UHD disc which are more expensive. Regular DVD will play but without the Dolby enhancements.

This player and the Panasonic UP-UB9000 are the contenders for best Blu Player in the market since the demise of the previous champ, Oppo 205. Sony has better HDR color reproduction and HDR processing and the Panasonic has the better sound output. Take your pick.

It's exactly what I've come to expect from Sony... a high quality product that delivers a great picture.

Very satisfied with this player. I have watched A New Hope and I am blown away with both the 4K Dolby Vision and Atmos sound. Look forward to the whole Star Wars collection and Marvel content. I have Star Wars dating back to VHS tape, DVD, and HD. Nothing compares to the picture I get with this unit.

Best bang for your buck for an ultra 4k blu ray player under $300. Its streaming capabilities suck, though - does not deliver any quality and I would rather stream from my 4k LG TV. Why even bother streaming from the blu ray player when you've got the capabilities in your TV? Just so they can make more money, I think.

I replaced the previous version of this player, due to it being in storage for over a year and apparently collecting too much dust to read some blurays. This player is fantastic...UHD/4K and sound are excellent, and reads the discs perfectly, with ultra-fast loading times.

I really like this player. The sound options are a little annoying to configure, but once you get it figured out, the audio and video are high quality.

This Sony replaced another Sony Blu-Ray player that I had used for over eight years. It was a 4K player and didn't allow for steaming. This new one is great and easy to install. Updates to the firmware are easy and the video quality is superb. I am also able to utilize the HD Hi-Res audio which works great.

I was very disappointed in the outputs on this device. I realize modern tech is changing and becoming much more limited, however, this is supposed to be a great AUDIO deck in addition to being a great video deck. It certainly wasn't an inexpensive entry level player. I expected many more outputs, at LEAST to allow versatility for different hookups. There is HDMI and digital coaxial only. no optical audio out, and no analog audio out. For a deck that is supposed to be a great audio player, I would at LEAST want the optical output. As is, it is very limited in its connection ability. Really unforgivable is a player of this caliber. Many devices have the optical input but do not have HDMI.

I bought this because it was the only option that I could find that had all of the disc playback features that I needed. DVD, DVD-A, SACD, UHD Blu-Ray, CD. The player performs well. However this is a most disappointing machine because of several factors. 1. The player does not detect Dolby Vision and this has to be manually switched on and off. Who's going to remember to check your disc every time you load the machine. The fact that they didn't do a firmware update is disappointing to say the least. THIS IS SONY high end! We expect them to respect the consumer and themselves for that matter. 2. The features are limited to what you would expect to find in a $50 off brand player. A. There are no front panel indicators of any kind except power on. B. There are no transport controls, Only on/off & Drawer Open/Close. C. The on screen status display information is limited to rudimentary information and does not give CD timing and CD metadata of any kind. D. Limited menu setting for customization. This is not a budget player. Sony should be ashamed and embarrassed. A generous 1 star off.

Great player. It is nice and heavy which reduces any vibration that a player creates while spinning. This is undoubtably due to the metal chassis. Plays all of the different types of disks I own flawlessly. Great picture. Great sound. It looks nice too.

Nice Blu-Ray player, very easy to set up and works well. It seems that it gets confused if different remotes are used with it, and it locks up if that happens. The workaround is to use the proper remote.

This one gets the job done, with great picture quality and sound. I'm using it with Denon 3700H and Sony A80J OLED. I've given 4/5 just because of one issue - you have to manually set it to Dolby Vision, wish it could automatically do that.

Wainted to upgrade my player and was looking for a 4K player. So happy I purchased this model. The picture is amazing...it's very fast in loading...and it's very quiet...which is wonderful when you're viewing something on lower volume and you don't have the noise of the player interferring. Couldn't be happier with my purchase.
