Plays movies with no problems both 4k, blue rays, and regular DVD’s haven’t messed with the smart app section but I would recommend this to family and friends looking for a good player at a great Black Friday price

I got this with my TV which I'm happy with I am a somewhat movie buff and I have A LOT of movies it displays good & it's easier than my last bluray player so so much easier it's not bloated with millions of stuff I wouldn't use

I can finally watch those 4K movies I had bought! I'm thoroughly impressed with the picture quality. No holds barred, This is by far the best disc player i have used. I still haven't checked out all of the featuresthis unit has to offer, but soon!

I have an older Oppo BDP 105. Streaming Tidal through it is still great, but it does not play Ultra HD, HDR blu ray disc. Oppo no longer makes blu ray players and i missed out on getting one of its later HDR players. When looking for a replacement, i was not expecting much from this Sony. However I have been pleasantly surprised by this player. I always figured discs would still look superior to streaming movies from Apple TV 4K and there is a substantial difference between what this player displays vs streaming. The player is connected to an LG CX OLED through a Marantz AVR. Got this at an already reduced price during the 2020 holiday season and that price was further reduced to well under $80 using BB points. Very happy with this player!!

So far it has done an excellent job with my 4K tv. We have only used it to play movies and in the future we may use the streaming option since our tv is somewhat older and won’t allow some additional app downloads.

Setup was super easy and operation has been outstanding. My only complaint is I cannot seem to find the option to turn off the auto-off "feature." But, that is extremely minor and does not affect my review. I would definitely buy it again.

This player was given as a gift and connected to a 85" 4k display. The first thing noted by the recipient was the superb build quality... built like a tank! Very happy with this purchase!

After i assembled the player to my Sony system, it played very awsome sharp picture and excellent audio quality. I had no problems playing my 3D movies as well. The 3D quality is much better on a 4K screen as well. Excellent product!!!

It is silent and heavier than I expected. Does play dolby vision as well as dolby atmos. Not 5 stars because on my 2017 LG C7, dolby vision makes the blacks grey and not black as OLEDS are meant to be. But for LED Tv’s and newer OLEDS, it is perfect!

Great picture. Use USB hub to play music. Sounds great also.

Sony UBP-X800M2 4K DVD player works great! It is easy to connect and use.

Once I bought a Sony tv and receiver, it felt only natural to add a Sony 4K player. I have not been disappointed. No lags like with the old 4K player. Picture looks crisper also. Very happy with this purchase.

Not worth the price of $300. Personally, i don't see much of a difference between a Blu Ray disc being played on a 4K TV and a 4 K disc being played. It is made sturdier than the cheaper Sony 4K disc player as of the time of this writing.
