    It works as intended for now. Recent dvd (bluray) player started out the same way. They eventually stopped playing blu ray dvd for what ever reason. No update for the system, no fixes, and becomes a 200.00 paper weight.

    Superb machine, a great value for the money. This is not "heavy duty" but is certainly a level above the smaller, all-plastic Sony and Panasonic players. No complaints so far. The metal chassis seems sufficient. The device is quiet, reliable, sturdy enough, and does the job. Bought on sale at Best Buy (price match) brand new for $199.99. That is a MUCH better deal than the equivalent-level Panasonic DP-UB820-K at $499.98.
