It is designed to be quiet, which it is. It connected to my WiFi easily, and setup for my accounts went smoothly. The setup wizard and settings menus are intuitive. One of the things I like best about this player is its shape. It is a simple rectangular box. No frills, no stylized shape or contours. It's a box. I can stack other components onto it, so it doesn't limit my ability to put it wherever I want.

The audio and video output is gorgeous. Video is upscaled to 4K 12bit regardless of the source and it looks amazing. Audio is bitstreamed cleanly. The supported formats are second to none. The interface is almost too simple. It is even more basic and stripped down than previous generations of Sony disc players like the S6700. The only apps on it are Netflix, Amazon Prime, and YouTube, and you can't add more.
