Excellent 4k Blu Ray player,it has Dolby Vision and Atmos,upgrade my Blu Ray movies to Dolby Vision and 4k movies look awesome

Got this to go with new XBR55x950G and replace a 10yr old Sony blue ray player. First this unit is a tank, I didnt want one of those small blue ray players. This is a nice component piece. It loads super fast compared to my old one. I only use this for watching movies so I wont comment on the OS or streaming features. I have everything hard wired with Ethernet rather than using the wifi. Its more than most 4k players but I wanted to match my tv and blue ray and I liked the size of the player. I cant wait to se 4k blue ray on this and new tv, only tried regular blue ray and it looks great.

We purchased this to compliment our new 4K TV. It works well an sincs perfectly with the TV remote. Picture and sound reproduction is excellent and it is easy to use.

Does very good job of upscaling Blu-Ray discs to near 4k quality. 4k Blu-Rays look excellent. . Did not try any DVDs. Remote is very intuitive...so easy to use.

Very easy set up and to get all software up dates very high quality for dvd

Easy to setup, didn't install apps, connected to internet for upgrades then disabled WiFi. Provides a good picture.

Great addition for our 4K Sony TV. Going back to DVDs and this is the best way to watch them.

I absolutely love this DVD player and the quality of it, it built very well, won’t scratch, or leave prints all over player love the texture on the top. it played some of my region free 2 DVDs, and they worked, I am very pleased with it, and you would be too you won’t be disappointed I think it’s better than most of the Sony DVD players out there in my opinion

This was a replacement for the older version of the same model. I had had that one for nine years and used it frequently. It always performed well, and I was very happy with it. That is why I chose the same model as a replacement. I have only had this one for a couple of weeks. It is working well. I haven’t had a chance to get into its improved features. I don’t anticipate having any problems.

This is a replacement for the same model that dies in less than (2) years. Selection of 4K players at this price point is pretty slim.

We have tried Samsung, LG and others but alway return to Sony; as far as we are concerned they are the best. Wonderful sound, picture and easy to set up.

I've had no issues with this player at all. It handles 4K like a champ and I do believe it improves tired ole DVDs as well. But, with 4k Blu-ray it shines!

I was having some major problems with my Samsung 4K player so I decided it was time to replace it. I watch a ton of movies from streaming, but when it's a movie that I really like I own it, either on 4K, Blu-Ray, or DVD. (I even had versions on VHS) I decided to switch to Sony as I never was happy with my last Samsung players. I can only comment as to the video quality as I recently junked my $1000 Samsung sound bar. I plan on getting a new sound bar soon. I can say that I have tried all 3 formats and the picture always looks amazing. I am very happy with this purchase.

I purchased this new Blu-Ray player as an upgrade for my older player that was at least 7 or 8 years old and although it still worked, it was starting to have the occasional issue. Therefore, I decided to purchase this new player and I am glad that I did. It works very well, although I have only had it for a couple of weeks not, and is very easy to use. The remote is very user friendly and all the features are what I expect to have in a Blu-Ray player. No complaints, just compliments and I hope that stays that way until I decide to upgrade again, several years down the road.

First the good stuff. This player does a fantastic job, especially at upscaling content. Whatever we've thrown at it looks great on a big screen. On the less desirable side, making most of the front panel the flip down to eject the disc tray feels flimsy and cheap. A traditional tray design would be much better. The button layout on the remote is odd and unfriendly. The most important buttons are tiny and hard to find. The remote should be backlit. I'd still give it a strong recommendation, but Sony made some surprisingly poor choices.

I love this 4K player. It was very east to setup and I find that it has a nice clear picture when watching 4k movies. Music also sounds great.

Absolutely perfect! I bought this item because it was region-free enabling it to play discs made anywhere. I have a copy of a film I enjoyed that was never offered in Region 1/NTSC format. When I converted from a DVD to a blu-ray player I lost the ability to view my Region 2 copy of that film for a long time. This player has not only alleviated that problem but given me the options of 4K and even 3D viewing should I choose to try either of those going forward. I love it and couldn't be happier.

I was looking for an all region 4k blu ray player and if you google that, this model from best buy comes up first. Just wahted to warn others, it in fact is not region free. Sony doesn't sell any region free models directly. It doesn't say anywhere that it does, but it doesn't say anywhere that it doesn't, and since it plays every other format imaginable it was a bit confusing. That being said I ended up returning this one and getting a modified one that us all region from another company. However I did try regular blu ray and 4k movies and they played seem less without issue. Only reason I didn't give it a 5 was the lack of apps for being a smart device. It comes wirh netflix, prime video, and YouTube. Unfortunately you can't download additional apps. Also doesn't come with an hdmi cable which is kind of lame. It's a great basic 4k blu ray player if that's what you're looking for, just know it's smart features are limited.
