Glitchy but good picture

But this is a glitchy Player. They have to be force rebooted when they freeze up. That gets very annoying if it’s in a cabinet and the plug isn’t easily accessible. I bought 2. One for myself and one for my wife’s parents. Both have the same issue. Other than that, I’m pleased.

I am an audiophile and have a lot of hi-res on DVD-Audio, SACD, and Flac files etc. This Sony can handle pretty much anything including MKV Video. Some of the more expensive competitors (Panasonic) can’t do this which is why I went this route. Very happy with it and highly recommended.

Sony said that was just too bad and wouldn't pay to fix. Interface is dated and streaming is limited to Netflix basically. Won't be buying another from Sony.

Thank you for the review and we're glad to hear that you like the Blu-ray player. Power reset the unit, simply unplug the unit and wait 1-2 minutes then plug the device back in and power on. We also recommend playing different disc to isolate the issue. If the situation does not improve, factory reset the Blu-ray player and try again. See page 27 from this link for more details.

Picture and sound quality are awesome. I was drawn to the excellent build quality and solid chassis unlike some cheaper "plastic-y" alternatives from other brands. It also plays all discs (movies and music) I've thrown at it. Price is right for the features and build quality. I would definitely purchase again.

TV recognized it as a Sony Bluray Player (with the correct model X800M2). The Sony XBR (2019) OLED TV remote can control this device (where applicable - Bluetooth Remote may be required). Movie Quality is great. Streaming Media - DLNA Client - works well; however, the sorting of movies, does not work for me (I have 700 movie titles, and I have to hunt for directories because they do not appear first like it does on Samsung).
