Great picture and sound, and easy setup. I bought my first X800M2 in November 2023, and it died in about 2 weeks. Got a replacement, and it died in about 5 weeks. A neighbor's unit died in a couple of months. I'd heard that the 700s were solid machines, but Sony missed the boat here. We'll see how my new Panasonic works out.

Great 4K DVD Player. Hi quality = incredible sound.

Good 4K unit however started to freeze functions frequently forcing me to unplug it to reboot. All my audio/video are attached to a Home Entertainment system including power management hence is a hassle to unplug any units. I like this Sony 4k model's features and performance I use my system every day and for long hours. Fortunately this happened during the extremely short time of the Store's Returns policy of 15 days !!! too short for those who don't use frequently like I do. I like to believe I just got a faulty unit so I returned. BestBuy replaced with a similar unit and I bought a 2 years Service Plan for the piece of mind. Best Buy didn't have in stock and I had to wait for the replacement shipped from California. My advice on electronics if you are a frequent user, use them as much you can within a Return or Warranty period, buy a Service Plan if the product is worth it. Have a back up unit to use if your main unit is on service or shipment of replacement. Sometimes electronic equipment need a break up time just like a brand new vehicle.

I decided to go with this player as it also plays 4k bluy rays. I was very impressed with the easy of use, simple menu navigation and amazing 3D picture quality. The Sony UBP-X800M2 really does provide a better picture and better sound than the cheaper players. This player will help you get more performance and enjoyment from your discs, TV, and speakers.

Easy setup, simple features quite useable, strong clarity

The Blu-Ray player was simple to install. The image quality from it is fantastic!

Investing in a new large 4K HDR OLED or like TV? Then this is a great companion at a reasonable price to maximize that investment if you will be keeping your disk collection. I have been very pleased. I haven't used the streaming feature as I already had a Roku streaming device that I use.

The player hasn't disappointed yet, but theres very small hiccups here and there, but expected can't be perfect .. It looks way great better than my XBOX ONE, so it's a WIN!

Works well. But as 4k is 4k no matter what UHD player you get, you are really paying for the extra features. Buying this is just making sure you get the extras with full compatibility with Sony TVs.

This bluray player was very unreliable, the screen on my 4K samsung TV kept turning black with no audio, at first i thought it was a handshake issue but then realized that the player didnt want to power down to restart it so i would have to disconnect the power wire from the power conditioner i have all my HT products connected to which was a hassle to do when you have all your wiring setup and reconnect it back just to get the player to start working normally. I ended up having to take it to Geek Squad for service which was another aneurysm to deal with and 2 weeks later getting it back as "Unrepairable" and since i did have it under a 4 year replacement or repair warranty, i was given a refund to buy a new player which i thought i would automatically get vs waiting two weeks to tell Geek Squad I TOLD YOU SO. I honestly miss the samsung bluray players, never had an issue with those and even my higher end Oppo UDP-205 and UDP-203 and evn mt Panasonic DP-UB820 years later far after warranty expiring still work 100%

Sony makes a good product. Great picture, simple controls and easy set-up.

Picture is great, works great with my Sony TV...the reason I gave it 4 out of 5 starts is because you have to manually select Dolby Vision rather than the player auto detecting. This is the birst 4k player that I've had to tell the player whether to use HDR10 or Dolby Vision. When you buy players at this price point, you should not have to tell it how to function. I would not recommend due to this single issue; however, if your 4k TV doesn't have Dolby Vision, this would not affect you.
