Bought this to upgrade my father's old 1080p player now that we've upgraded him to 4K. Setup was a breeze, and the upgrade to this unit was a noticeable improvement. Upgrading the firmware to the latest revision was also easy and quickly accomplished. Not a single thing to really complain about with this unit - would buy again.

I bought this new player to replace an old Sony Blu-Ray player that would not play some recent movie titles. It has very nice picture and sound options. Plays all my collection of Blu-Ray and DVD movies. No complaints.

I was excited to get this after reading all the great reviews. Maybe I have been out of the loop too long and havent bought a media endpoint aside from, playstations, fire cubes and rokus but the quality of the hardware and user interface is horrendous. The main interface screen looks like a 10 year old designed it. The remote is severely limited and cheesy compared to the playstation 3 media remote. The infra red signal is weak. There is no display on the front of the unit. The video and audio quality were pretty solid but it locked up with no way to turn it off aside from pulling the plug from the ac outlet within the first 30 minutes. This was after the initial test and after I integrated it into my rack. It's going back today.

It was time to upgrade from my combo dvd/vcr player!! I bought this item as I liked what it offered plus it had very good reviews. I researched this item on other websites for it's quality and reviews and I was happy with what I found. I am happy with my purchase. I think you will be too.

Love it. 4k is great and it even upscales non 4k blu ray.

I was very nervous about picking a 4K player, but I’m so glad I picked this one, it’s been great. Upscaling 1080p Blus has been excellent. As for cons, I’ve just noticed that it sometimes needs to have the on button pressed twice, but no problems with playback once it starts playing. I’m happy with this one.

I have had many DVD players and this purchase was to be used with my new 4k Samsung OLED TV. I am impressed and satisfied, Sony has always had great products.

Not sure it's the best but it's pretty darn close in my opinion

The player does what it is supposed to , the picture quality is fantastic easy to play. buy the Best buy HDMI cable to experience even a better picture quality bettern than $1,000 dollar cables out there.

What can I say? It's very user friendly & the visual quality is excellent!

Well I needed to buy this for my new Samsung Q80 TV because it's 4k and the one I had before wasn't. I'm old school and while I stream a ton of things I just need to have the hard copy of stuff too. The Samsung blue ray I had wasn't 4k plus it recently received an update that just out right killed it. So now I'm a Sony guy I guess.

Sony 4K Ultra player! This is by far one of the best 4K movie players I have ever bought. Beautiful picture quality, and the freeze frame works perfect. I don’t know what I was thinking to wait so long to buy a 4K movie player! Get this player! Nuff said!

Awesome sound system. It only lacks 2 speakers in the wireless rears vs the top of the line but you wouldn't know it. You won't regret your purchase if you buy this one!!

This is a great DVD player. It has all the features and it works with my 4K TV.

I’ve owed this dvd player for a little over a month now and have absolutely no complaints. Easy to use right out of the box with setup, etc. definitely would recommend if looking for good dvd player that is up to date with the most recent tech.

Bought this blu-ray player mainly for its ability to play every form of surround sound music discs, for which I have a large and diverse collection. My older blu-ray player had issues decoding certain formats, this player plays them all without any delays for loading and processing. And the sound is amazing! Very glad I upgraded!

This Sony 4K Ultra HD streaming Blu-ray player is a Good Buy. Outstanding player with many features and options and a good upgrade from the UBP700 I think it was called.Very pleased with the purchase!!!

This is an excellent 4k DVD player. What I really like is that it plays flash drives without a problem and plays them with many different video formats. I had bought a Panasonic player for twice the price that did not work as well as this Sony DvD player.

I actually have the 1st generation of this player and only bought this one because I thought Dolby Vision might make a difference. Honestly, not much of a difference. You have to manually set to DV in the settings. I put the old one in my back room. Have a high end Sony tv and still not much if any of a difference. Good quality player though.
