This one gets the job done, with great picture quality and sound. I'm using it with Denon 3700H and Sony A80J OLED. I've given 4/5 just because of one issue - you have to manually set it to Dolby Vision, wish it could automatically do that.

player works great, picture is great, easy to use.

This is really super excellent player. I have played all new and old movies and the pic quality is great. I really couldn’t figure out why I would pay more for a higher version. But it works great for me. I don’t use it for Netflix or any other media streaming services.

Excellent picture with Dolby picture and Dolby Atmos audio. For best result you need to purchase an UHD disc which are more expensive. Regular DVD will play but without the Dolby enhancements.

Great picture quality and sound quality. Upscales movies not UHD.

Purchased this because my old Blu-ray player was not HDMI compatible with new tv and receiver. I needed something that would play SACDs and this fit the bill. Amazed at how good it makes non 4K Blu-rays look, and it even improved SD DVDs. Very happy with this choice.

Had a defective one, I threw my box away. But I was able to return it and get a new one. It works great! You can definitely see and hear the difference with a 4K player upgrade. The second unit I got works completely fine. Has no issues like the previous one. I would say try your luck. And if you get a defective one. You can always turn it in for a new one!

While it does a great job when it works, it doesn't really work very good at least half the time. While I bought this to replace another Sony player that was having issues I only inherited more. Examples: -It will fault out during Prime viewing and/or other streaming content. The only fix is to shut it off and reboot the darn thing. -The remote won't work with my Sony receiver and vice versa, even though they are about the same age/series. So much for "universal" remote language. -The remote will turn on the old Sony DVD player and confuse my Sony receiver often making start ups and shut downs a lot of fun. The only reason I keep the DVD player hooked up is because the newer player doesn't always boot back up so if I want to finish watching something I have to use the older Sony player which has fewer glitches than the newer one. My previous Sony receiver lasted over 20 years and worked well. Given all the flaws and performance issues of the newer units I have to say I will never buy another Sony product again.

I like how I can select music on USB device to accompany viewing slideshow photos. Great replacement for other 4k video player that needed an internet sign-in to use. I use it to view digital copies of discs that went missing too, and it can play discs without the internet connected.

I bought two of these in Sep and Nov 2019. Both had the current software update and both are garbage. 1) Won't hold an internet connection 2) Home menu disappeared leaving only Apps 3) Apps like Netflix disappeared 4) DVD only player at this point 5) Remote quit working completely 6) all I get now is a black SONY screen on my TV. NEVER SONY! I contacted Sony and they told me to ship them to a repair shop at my cost and repair at my cost. These are a complete waste if money for $600++ for two units.

Perfect when Paired with my A8H ...Steaming Video has always been a downgrade for me..but with these 2 paired and the Bravia connection is selected...anyone who's sees the picture quality is just awe stuck....There is no substitute for Physical Media..

Very good softwere fast and perfect picture. This is also the newest and most feature packed blueray sony sells.

Very nice Ultra HD player for the money so far (20 days in). I did have one freeze up on a Ultra HD disc. No freeze issues with standard Blu-Ray disc. Wishing / Hoping Sony will do a firmware upgrade to make the Dobly Vision automatic (do you hear the thousands of voices requesting this Sony?). Build quality and feel is top notch. Disc tray is smooth.

Nice Blu-Ray player, very easy to set up and works well. It seems that it gets confused if different remotes are used with it, and it locks up if that happens. The workaround is to use the proper remote.

Love Sony, but this Blu-Ray player does not allow you to download any apps [such as YouTube TV]. This prevented me from giving it 5 stars. YouTube, and YouTube TV are 2 different apps. Don't think that you can use the YouTube app to watch YouTube TV.

Purchased to replace my first generation SONY HD DVD player, so I could improve my experience when viewing on my new SONY 65” Class BRAVIA XR A90J Series OLED 4K UHD Smart Google TV. It synchronized easily with the new smart TV remoted, sound and picture are awesome. I highly recommend.

An excellent Streaming true 4K Blu-ray player...the upconvert ability (for even standard DVDs) is great. We have hooked a keyboard into the unit so we can more easily browse Youtube and the other on-line content providers. And because we have a Sony TV, amplifier, etc., it all integrates seamlessly togehter

Only used it for one month so far, and it is a great improvement over the blu-ray player we used to have. The picture is clear & bright and the sound is very good. Would definitely recommend it!

I really like this player. The sound options are a little annoying to configure, but once you get it figured out, the audio and video are high quality.
