Sony 4k uhd x800m2 blue ray player upscales dvds to fine quality and plays 4k bluray uhd discs with great picture and Dolby Atmos sound

The X800M2 has Dolby Vision that is compatible with the X900F. Very nice. One downside is that there is no front panel display.

This seems to be a good product. There is no vibration when it is in operation like some have. The metal housing was worth the difference in price over plastic.

Easy to set up. Great blu ray videos and dvd videos.

Working as advertised. Sony quality never disappoint you. Definitely recommended for anyone looking for a mid-high tier 4k blu-ray player.

This player performs well with 4K and Blu-Ray disks, but also upconverts DVD's to 1080P resolution, which is a nice extra feature for those that might still have a library of DVD's.

In its first couple weeks of use it has performed very well. Yes, having to turn Dolby Vision on/off manually is really annoying, but I knew that before purchasing the player. The biggest surprise is how great standard blu-rays look - the best image upscaling I’ve seen, and miles ahead of anything my previous entry-level LG was capable of. My main gripe is that I’ve already had one instance of the player freezing, which requires unplugging the machine.

GREAT 4 K BLU RAY IF YOU LIKE SONY OR A FAN OF THE BRAND

When building a home theatre system you have to go with a 4K blue ray player. Especially if your tv is 4K too for optimal clarity.

It performed well for 23 months. We only watched a couple dozen movies on it; movies with Dolby Atmos, like Top Gun Maverick, etc. It just quit working; won’t turn on, eject, etc. I knew it wouldn’t be used much so I didn’t get an extended warranty. I guess that was a mistake. I’ going to try a Pamasonic this time.

Excellent blu ray player with streaming 4K Ultra HD HI-Red Audio WI-FI. This player operation runs smooth with minimal noise. I would recommend this player.

I bought this to replace my samsung 4I player that have up after 4 years. The video quality and sound quality doesn't miss a beat. Every bit as good as the one I replaced.

Excellent player. Setup is easy and the system plays multiple formats. With a 4K tv and receiver, the video and audio improvements are noticeable.

Hate our Sony UBP 700 Blu-Ray Player as it constantly pauses (hangs) and needs to be reset to play. Replaced it with this 800M2 and time will tell if this was the right choice
