A great HDR/Dolby vison player, but some problems
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my second X800M2; the first one died after 2 years (be smart and purchase the extended GS warranty with this). Great audio and video quality from this player - it can't be beat for the price ! I set the upscaling to 4K and all my MP4s, Blurays and DVDs look great in 4K. HDR and DolbyVision are amazing. Both players have crashed every 2-3 weeks and require unplugging and then re-connecting to the wireless network. Be sure to have easy access to to the power cable ! Only three apps for this unit , but I only use 2, so that's fine. Set up is intuitive and east to understand. Don't worry about manually turning off/on DV, it's easy to do.

Great player
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works great but you need the high speed hdmi cables to get the best sound and picture. Only thing missing from this player is the ability to update and add new streaming services.

Limited streaming apps available.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Limited streaming apps. A big reason I bought this one was for internet streaming services as well as bluray. It's for the "other" TV that's a bit older and doesn't have builtin streaming services. Unfortunately it only supports Netflix, Amazon, and Youtube (which I don't use). NOT Hulu or HBO. And probably never will. Picture looks good on blurays, but doesn't meet my needs.

Good Player
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this player for about month. Only watch one movie on it that is 4k ultra. I have one time condition where disc freeze, also when watching movie can't see confirmation that watching in 4k, i got notification uhd disk or something like that, i do have 4k tv it is xr90k by sony. Other than that i think that this 4k player is really good and can bring you good viewing experience.

Great picture and sound
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works reliably and delivers great picture and sound. 4K is so much better than Blu-ray even on Sony 65in TV. Device is easy to use. Would buy again.

great player for theater room
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.looking to upgrade from older technology to newer is always a hassle, ie Component to HDMI connectors, HDMI 1.1 to 1.4 etc. What is great about this player is it has two HDMI outputs, which can be setup to route audio to one and video to the other. Whatever you situation, HTR cannot process 4K of do not want the amplifier to process video, direct connect to TV, projector, etc, this player allow the flexibility to do this until your ready to upgrade or separate audio and video. The player is a great HDR player and works well with an Epson projector and Yamaha HTR (separate connections) and the price point is not a killer.

Good Disc Player
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My girlfriend has an extensive blu-ray collection. This unit provides decent picture and enough options to affect quality output without being excessive. It may be me, but has disc playback always been this slow? I recommend a streaming device as opposed to disc players, but it serves it's purpose.

Just excellent.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My expensive Oppo ceased playing blurays after just six years, even with multiple interior cleanings. It was time for a new one and despite not having a 4K tv yet, I knew I had to go with a Sony player. I am blown away by this one. I feel like the Oppo was actually holding back my home theater set up. The sound was immediately more powerful and livelier. The picture quality stunned, too. The colors are more vibrant and the details are sharper than they were before, by far. Netflix on it is amazing. The Animals docuseries almost hurt my eyes, the detail was so incredible. The Bluetooth headphones feature is a huge plus for me, too. It works so well with my Sony headphones. The quality is so much better than when I use them with my dinky random Amazon transmitter. I only have one 4k disc but it is so cool that I can watch it now, downscaled to 1080p. The color was off but I didn't mess around with that setting yet. It will play 4K files off of my external hard drive, too, and they look perfect. That's really cool and convenient. It plays DVDs perfectly, too! I am nuts about this player. Sony was my very first DVD player in 1999. It feels good to have one again.

Must-Have for movie lovers
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This beast is a must own for moive\bluray watchers. it upscales blurays way more than the tv or xbox could ever do. I use it daily and I am impressed with the picture everytime. It takes a while to adventure through all the settings and adjustments but it is worth it

Improvement over previous 4K disk player.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this player because it includes Dolby Vision HDR which provides a significant improvement in picture quality to my 4K UHD Blu-ray disks. I like that it adds Dolby Vision to pictures that did not include this in the original program content. A minor issue is that for video streaming, the player only includes apps for Netflix and two other services for which I am not a current subscriber. Neither the owners manual nor the Sony website provide useful information for subscribing to a different service.

Good Deal
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a high quality 4k DVD player from a well known manufacturer. The player is packed with loads of features and it complements most modern audio video systems. Although it is a little pricey, it is worth the buy.

Sony is quality on a Blu-Ray player.
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this 4k blu ray player when I took in my old 4k blu ray player in for repair which is a lower end model Sony when I choose to get a refund and get a new 4k blu ray player. The picture quality is amazing on my 4K blu ray player on DVDs, regular Blu ray movies upscales amazing on 4k. Both Dolby vision and HDR 10 also looks excellent on my TV. Colors really pop out in Dolby vision depending on what tv you have.

Super Awesome Sony UBP-X800M2
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Sony UBP-X800M2 player is worth the price. I now have 3 of these. I was so impressed with the first one I bought. I've had my first one for over one year and no problems at all. These players are heavy duty and my 4k discs look and sound super awesome. Super satisfied with this model.

Pretty good Atmos for the price.
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The sound out of this bar and rear speakers/bass is pretty good. I got it for the Atmos. Atmos seems to be pretty hit or miss because there isn’t a standard that the studios have to meet for the home market. I’ve been pretty selective on the discs I’ve bought to get the most out of it. It’s kind of a pain in the butt remote, and the ap won’t hook up. Once I found the best settings I was pleased.

Sony X800 Disc Player
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, satisfied with the player. It did freeze up a few times watching Top Gun-Maverick but all other discs that I have played have been fine. When the scene froze, I had to go back and replay the chapter to continue. I assume the issue is with the disc though it was a new disc played the first time. Picture quality is nice and upscaling to 4K on the BR discs I tried was very good.

Excellent player
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I bought this to use with a Sony 900h tv. Up until now I’ve been using Xbox one or series x as UHD blu ray player. Immediately I noticed a big difference. Not only does it allow Dolby vision from uhd disc but hdr 10 looks fantastic and even upscale Blu-ray’s are vastly improved. Honestly this has turned the tv from acceptable to me to WOW. Easily worth 150$. Unless you’re insanely picky I wouldn’t spend extra money for one of the best in class Panasonic. And I would save 50$ and go for the cheaper Sony. THIS IS THE WAY.

Perfect match for my sony TV
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I want a cleaner audio/video media source than the normal streaming sources to match my soney X95k TV. This unit was reasonably priced and exceeded my expectations. I would jave like to have a bit more ups ale build materials and feature set with scad playback etc. However i did not want to pay $1K for it like the older oppo. This unit synced with my sony tv and my Marantz very easily. The performance is excellent for the price.

Sony4k Ultra HD Blu-Ray Player UBP-X800M2
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Blu-Ray player offers outstanding picture quality when paired with Sony 90 series OLED TV and a Sony 7.2 Receiver for sound. Single HDMI connection via 2.1 enhanced cable ties all three devices together. This is ideal for those who desire a clean audio video set up with a minimum of wiring complexity. I recommend this Blu-Ray player and Sony system for those like me who are not electronic whiz’s!
