Right out of the box it plays all. DVD, Blu ray, and 4k no issues. I unhooked my old Sony DVD players as they are unnecessary. It really cleaned up the wiring. I have owned several Sony products dating back to 1962. My original TapeCorder Monaural still works. I lost one TV to lightening in Iowa. I love Sony products! They consistently make great stuff and have for years. Thanks to all Sony Employs for such great products. Dr. Mark

The DVD player was surprisingly easy to set up using the system instructions displayed on the tv screen. The "laser" pointer moves a little too quickly at first but once I got accustomed to the sensitivity of the remote it's made moving from one input to another much easier than I hoped for

This 4k player has excellent picture quality and response time.

Sony products are fantastic because they interface so well with other Sony products. When you turn on the Blu-ray player the TV turns on to the correct input!

It's a big player, sure, but it looks right in my stack. The 4k quality is great, and the DVD upconvert is top notch.

I needed a 4k Blu-ray player for my den and this player checked all the boxes for my specific needs. I was debating between the excellent X700 and this current model but finally decided to get the more recent model.

Visually needs front display. Firmware updates also needed.

easy setup; fired right up, and seems to work just fine

Wanted to make sure it played 3 d videos and it does. I have all Sony so everything pairs up. I now can take advantage of sound too

Bought as a replacement for old video player. My super movie buff SIL likes it a lot and enjoys all the features.

Good player, just wish it showed the song name and artist and album when playing an Audio CD, and it would be great if it automatically detected Dolby Vision compatible discs instead of me having to look on the packaging of the disc and then go to the player's settings and manually turn it on/off.

Best Buy has the name that goes with the smart and professional staff members that guided me to purchase a home theater surround system that AMC has lost a movie watcher. My system gives me the pleasure of having my own theater. Thank you guys.

4K Blu-Ray player, seems to work very well and not had any issues to date. It does play DVD's, notice that some do not. To be exact, I put in Antz, the movie, and it worked. Not sure about the apps on here, as the TV we bought has them and use those there. So, can't help you on this review if you want know about the apps, sorry.

Plays everything I put in it. 4K blu ray and recorded dad's. Perfect accessory to my home theater system.

This unit is loaded with features. I haven't had time to use them all just yet; primarily because I was asked to do this review too soon after the purchase. Being that it is a Sony product, I don't anticipate any problems.

I have not gotten the unit installed yet, but would challenge the ”excellent” condition. It states that there are no scuffs or marks, but my unit has a broken front plate and the side is loose. The remote was included, but it was not in a box (no big deal).

The movies that we watched on the dvr looked very good.
