18 month player

We kept up with software updates so I’m not sure what happened, but now it won’t work with either of my two Sony smart TVs. That’s how I knew it wasn’t the TV. The DVD player freezes when I load a movie (any movie) and have to unplug and plug back the electricity to get the movie out. I tried everything with the setup without any change. I made the mistake of not getting the extended warranty. It’s a good player, but make sure you buy the extended warranty.

A compramise when compared to the UBP-X800

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.After having read about the much the heralded "M2" version, it was found lacking in that Sony removed the ability to custom tailor the video adjustments, which is quite disappointing rendering this "new" model in my opinion inferior to the original. I would not have purchased this model if these changes were known ahead of time. Very disappointing. . . . Sony dropped this ball on this one.
