    I purchased this unit based on the brand name - usually Sony is great...this unit was a let-down from moment one. It never really worked right, the door wasn't opening, it hummed loudly PLUS all the things you read about this product that are a problem...well they are true.

    I bought this thing a year ago. It was fine for several months, but now if there is so much a shadow of a dust particle on a disc, this player freaks & stops playback. Remove the disc & clean the disc thoroughly 10 freakin times, unplug the unit, plug it back in & it still won't play. Every movie night needs a plan b.
