We had the previous versioning of this product, which worked well until it developed a glitch (which quite a few users report). This version seems almost identical. It works well in every way. An excellent device, but is not a bargain in price.

So far so good. Picture is amazing. Only using the one output but I guess could be better using the dedicated hdmi for video and audio if your setup that way

Very good quality. Noticeable difference in 4K verses blu ray. Highly recommended!

Outstanding 4K Blu-ray Player The Best I've Ever Owned & I Have Had a Lot Of Them. I Have Not Seen Any Of These Problems Others Spoke Of About Skipping Or Freezing Up Not One Problem With Anything I Put Into It So Far.

Great unit! I bought an OLED 65” TV. Was considering an LG, but wasn’t fussy either way. In my theatre, I have a Sony 4K UHD, and love it as well. This player connected seamlessly to the LG interface on the TV. Amazing video quality! Wow!

Great working player but only has 3 streaming app. no Hulu, Vudu. I had to connect a separate streaming box to get them. My 2017 Sony same model older version has several apps. This newer model has Netflix, Prime and YouTube.

I would recommend this to any Sony fan... the apps aren't great but if you have Dolby vision this is the one too buy...so what are you waiting for buy this now you will not be disappointed...

I love it! It does what it needs, but the add on of playing SACD's as well as DVD-Audio and Blu-Ray audios, as well as DTS encoded CD's is definitely a plus. Too bad it is not region free, but you can't have everything.

Meets all my needs since it plays all Formats. The only thing I wish it had play buttons on the console. I also wish it had a descent iOS remote WiFi remote app. Sony should check out the Yamaha remote app and try to replicate.

I love it! I'd recommend this. I did the research and it lives up to the word. It's a good player.

Works very well. Good for viewing discs, Netflix and YouTube. Even displays Netflix 4K better than previous model.

Well built, looks cool and plays every format thinkable. Expensive but you'll never need another player(until 8k content comes out...lol).

Has a known issue with switching layers on 4ks. Freezing during the transition.

Purchased this BluRay player to replace an dead DVD player. I selected this unit for several reasons: 1) I have had great experience with upper level Sony products. 2) UBPX800M2 has coaxial digital sound output compatible with my 15 year old Rotel receiver. 3) UBPX800M2 has DLNA renderer capability enabling me to play music stored on my Synology NAS directly to my audio system in the digital domain. Had some initial difficulties getting that feature to work, but now working. My iPhone sets up a lossless direct wireless connection from the NAS to the UBPX800M2 which doesn’t drain the phone battery like AirPlay does. The UBPX800M2 is less expensive than any stand-alone DLNA render with digital output that I could find. As expected for any good BluRay player, DVD reproduction is excellent.

Price: very good price, best Blue Ray Ultra 4K player on market Pick-up: it was available soon after I ordered, pick up was efficient, associate was friendly Product: visual and audio are great, I use it for movies, CDs and SACDs.

Excellent Sony DVD player. Really like the extra 4K streaming available with Amazon, Netflix, and YouTube. Easy to set up with a Sony OLED TV, too. After one year still working great. No issues.

Good value, decent upscaling - could be better, small lightweight remote. It needs more buttons on the player. It has only power and tray open/close buttons. It should have a Play button also, so that one could at least play discs if the remote were lost or damaged.

Overall this is a solid 4K Bluray player. Picture quality and sound are excellent (Sound is going through a Yamaha soundbar.). I am using the apps on my Sony X950H TV, so I cannot comment on the player's built in apps.

bought this for my Sony A8H and it has been a great experience. I like it as much as my Panasonic UB820. Sony has done a great job.
