I bought this for my daughter who is in college. College is so fast paced and the professors are so fast she felt like she couldn't keep up so I got her a voice recorder by Sony. It's a little complicated and all you get is a quick guide to go with it but a full instructions can be downloaded on their website. It took us about couple hours to get the hang of it but it was worth it. She loves it and your professors have no problems with her recording their lectures.

Didnt think this would be that great since it wasn't to pricey. We used it a few weeks later in our house and caught spirits talking on it. Best thing ever!

This recorder is compact, sleek, and solid. If there was a way to name files or folder in the device, I would give this 5 stars.

I mainly use it to record lectures in class. It works great for that purpose, I am able to hear someone from across the room in the recording. I haven't quite figured out yet how to minimize the majority of the "side chatter" or the noises that are caused from it being shuffled around, but from what I understand, that is a possibility. I have tried recording phone conversations and the television, even conversations when the recorder is in my pocket. I have not had one recording yet that was not audible or completely distorted. The more that I learn about this little device, the happier I am with it. You can put little "T" marks in a conversation that allow you to jump ahead to that marking when listening back later, so you don't have to listen to the whole thing to get to that one spot again. You can save the files and you can protect them, too. Its so simple to charge and to transfer the recordings to the laptop/computer. I don't know if you can name the files on the device but that would sure be helpful. All in all... its a great device and I'm glad that I got it.

If you need something decent. not to expensive, this is a good product. Audio quality was clear. Only con is that you can adjust the recording levels as just high, medium and low. No higher customizing option available. Inbuilt mics are great. I used it to connect external audio input using the 3.5mm jack and that works great too.

This is the second SONY recorder that I have purchased for use at work. The SONY recorders are excellent. This particular model lets to tag (mark) specific spots to quickly return to when transcribing or listening to the recordings.

I use this for record lectures, even when I record it with some distance. The recorder captures the sound really great, but sometimes I had some wind noise I guess it picked up the noise too loud. But if you put the recorder next to your professor it won't have any of that problem. Love this recorder

I read many reviews on this recorder and was surprised by some comments about low audio playback. That is NOT a problem, just turn up the volume. I plan on using this for recording meetings with my new found cousins in Poland. I like the features, and it is very easy to use, you almost don't need to read the instructions, simple!

The recorder is easy to use and has great sound quality.

I use this recorder for work meetings where I have to write minutes, it works great. I don't have to worry about writing everything down as I can just go back and listen. This is actually my second recorder - the first one was stolen and I couldn't imagine going to the meetings without one.

I needed a recorder that would work well in a large lecture hall. I did some research and found this recorder. I sit in the last row of a very large lecture hall with almost 500 students and I am able to record the lectures with no problems.
