Extremely sharp wide lens. Perfect for handheld video!

Great wide angle for the price. Tack sharp if you know what you are doing and the AF is fast and keeps up with my a7iii. Would recommend 100% if you don't have a need for the extra stop that the GM version offers (for $$$)

I purchased this lens after reading the reviews posted on Best Buy and other internet sites. I normally use my old Canon FD lenses with a fixed focal length and adaptor on my A7II. However, my Canon 17mm F2 with the adapter produces pretty sever vignette and distortions, so I picked this up as an "open box" item to see how much better of a picture I could get at the 16mm side of the zoom. I doubt if I will ever use the old Canon 17mm again. This lens gives sharp, flat pictures, corner to corner. Another note, although not really mentioned, is this lens goes into a macro mode and takes excellent close up photos.

Compared this lens with the more expensive G Master lens. In my opinion it is every bit as sharp and much lighter. There is not much difference between F 2.8 and F 4; certainly not enough difference to warrant the almost $900.00 price increase.

This is now my most used lens. So versatile. Between this and my 50mm ziess i dont need anything else for film. I use this for video but the quality is so crisp im sure it would work well for photo. I use the A7sii and these are a match made in heaven.

I should have picked up this lens from the get go. The glass is amazing and doesn't weigh to much. Can be used for your go to lens.

If you’re using Sony mirrorless its a must for for ultra wide versatility. Classic Zeiss sharpness and quality. Landscapes and run and gun street photography.

This lens works great and the only downside is that it is pretty heavy. Overall it feels and looks like a high quality lens by Sony. I also have the 10-18 mm wide angle and compared to this lens there is a big difference. If you are looking for something that is light weight then the 10-18 mm is for you. If you want better glass and high quality workmanship the 16-35 is great.

I love this lens on my Sony A7lll - Wide angle 16mm to moderate 35mm, and sharp. Quick to focus in good light and wonderful for landscapes. Slightly heavy but not out of balance and very well made.

This is an AWESOME wide angle lens. I use it for some portraits but mostly travel photography. Would also be fantastic for real estate photos.

I got my first hand look at this lens from the Sony Rep at my local camera store. Unfortunately they did not have this lens in stock, but Best Buy did. I'm extremely impressed with the image quality of this lens paired with the Sony A7ii Camera. The lens has an excellent feel to it, and even though it is a bit heavy, having the Battery Grip on the A7ii gives it a neutral feel to it. If you can afford this lens, it will be an excellent addition to your camera system.

The lens is great and offers a sharp image as well as a wide view without distortion. Great lens for video and photo in personal experience

THIS IS ONE OF THE SHARPEST LENS I HAVE EVER PURCHASED . THIS FOCAL LENGTH IS PROBABLY THE BEST FOR A WALK AROUND LENS ON THE SONY 6500. THE 24-50MM WAS ALWAYS ONE OF MY FAVORITE LENSES.

I needed a wide zoom lens for my A7 and FX30. Pretty happy with this one for the price. As always, I wish the F stop went down to at least an F2.8. I tend to stick with Prime lenses, but this is nice to have some wide zoom capabilities.

In looking for a good set of lenses for my new AR7 II camera I was trying to get a wide range of good lenses that would cover most conditions. I debated between this lens and the Rokinon 14mm Lens. I am really glad I got this one. I like the zoom function and it takes great inside and outside pictures. The zoom is smooth and the lens well made. For a wide angle lens it is very small and light easily carried in bag to switch if you need the wider angle.

Excellent Zoom, not a camera connoisseur but sales associates recommend this lens for my camera, little pricey but works really good.

This lens for the Sony full frame line is just amazing. The build is quality and the picture is detailed.

I didn't realize how much I missed having a wide angle until I no longer had one. I initially only had one lens for my A7RII but really missed the flexibility the wide angle afforded me. I couldn't be happier with the picture quality of this lens! Super sharp and the field of view really lets you capture a wide range in your image. The durability and construction feel pretty solid too. Would definitely recommend!
