Had my doubts about this focal length, but have to say it’s become my favorite lens and rarely lens my camera (A7iii). The image is really sharp, though at 35mm it can get a bit soft at the edges of the frame. I wouldn’t bother with the 2.8 GM for the current price point, as the OSS outweighed the aperture difference (at least for me).

Decided to splurge on this lens for architectural/real estate photography. Glad I did! I love the sharpness of this lens and the photos I take with it. The f4 apeture makes it a little difficult to do low light pics and vids but for my needs this is perfect. Totally worth the savings from the f2.8 for me.

There are a lot of reviews online for this lens, so there's not much more that I can add other than this is the wide lens to get, if you're on a budget and have an A7III body.
Losing a stop of light, compared to the Sony G-Master version is mitigated by the fact that the A7III has clean, usable, imaging up to ISO 10k, so to me, it was worth the $1,000 bucks in savings over the G-Master version.
One thing to note is that the body does extend out when you change focal length, so if you're planning on using it with a gimbal, know this up front. It may require minor adjustment to gimbal balance if you zoom in with this lens on. Otherwise a great overall lens for the money!

Great lens that works wonderfully with my Sony A7RII. I wish the finish on the Sony lenses was more durable, but that's just cosmetic.

I was mostly using the 55 1.8 on my A7II but decided I needed something a tad bit wider for what I wanted to shoot. This lens meets all my expectations and more. Fantastic colors, quick focus, sharp to all corners and has the zeiss pop to it. So glad I purchased it and can not wait for my upcoming trip.

Versatile and surprisingly sharp from 16mm to 28mm. F4 gives plenty of lighting options on a Sony A7RII. Used mostly for a one lens landscape bundle for travel.

This lens is on my A6300 all the time. Great small zoom with f4.0 throughout focal lengths. I use this for travel and street photography and swap it out with faster prime lenses when needed.

Amazing lens, would like to have gotten g master version for star shots but in everything else it is one heck of a lens. Using with Sony A6000 interestingly enough. But great combo.

This is a great zoom range and the ultra wide end is quite sharp when closed down a little. Only caveat is the F4.0 aperture and the drop in image quality at 35mm end. Considering the high price this is not the best value.

Outstanding Image Quality!

You'll' be surprised by the image quality but that's about it. This rather heavy lens was originally released in 2014, which makes it outdated and overpriced for the size of the aperture.
