This lens is tack sharp and a great range at 16-35mm. I actually have this on my camera (sony a7rII) most of the time. Great quality and sharpness. My only gripe is that it's an F/4. If this lens is a 2.8, it would get 5 stars for sure, F/4 seems a little dated especially at such a high price point.

As title states, this is a great lens but pretty heavy due to metal body. Solid construction awesome glass . Considering I paid $300 more only a couple years ago for this is quite a downer to say the lease. At the price it’s at now it’s a great value.

This lens works great and the only downside is that it is pretty heavy. Overall it feels and looks like a high quality lens by Sony. I also have the 10-18 mm wide angle and compared to this lens there is a big difference. If you are looking for something that is light weight then the 10-18 mm is for you. If you want better glass and high quality workmanship the 16-35 is great.

I needed a wide zoom lens for my A7 and FX30. Pretty happy with this one for the price. As always, I wish the F stop went down to at least an F2.8. I tend to stick with Prime lenses, but this is nice to have some wide zoom capabilities.

Hi zzzzzz, Thank you for your review on the lens. Sony's commitment to customer satisfaction is our top priority. The Sony Zeiss 16-35 f4 is definitely a great option for wide shots on those cameras. Not only is it versatile with the focal range, but a nice sharp lens! Happy Shooting! -Linda (Sony Social Support) Sony_US

You'll' be surprised by the image quality but that's about it. This rather heavy lens was originally released in 2014, which makes it outdated and overpriced for the size of the aperture.

Well worth the price range. Only complaint is the durability/quality of the body. It scratches and scuffs up quickly compared to G Master lenses. Lens is what you would expect of high end ZEISS quality.

this is a very nice landscape lens. it focuses quickly and paired with my A7ii offers plenty of light gathering capabilities at F4 when needed. mid-range F/8 to F/12 fit most of my shots and are sharp

As a (mostly) landscape photographer, 16-35mm is my go to. It was a really tough decision between this and the 16-35 GMaster. The Zeiss lens is clear all the way to the edge wide open and I have been really really happy with the quality. The only thing this is lacking compared to the Gmaster is the zeiss is F4. So I do miss the faster lens while shooting astrophotography. BUT.. I come from Montana, my landscapes come from backpacking miles and miles. The Zeiss is WAY more compact than the GMaster, and not to mention half the price. For that reason I stuck with the Zeiss. I would recommend this lens to anyone. I would say GMaster is overall a better all around lens because of the F2.8. But, your choice is between two very solid lenses and I would recommend the Zeiss to anyone

I purchased this lens with the intention of using it for video. I took it on vacation last month to Punta Cana in the DR and it did not disappoint one bit. All my video work was pretty sharp and although I didn’t have that much of a zoom range it was awesome to be able to get all the beautiful pristine shots in paradise. I would definitely recommend this to anybody looking to do video with it, I know you may not have the 2.8 but F4 is plenty great even in the evening or under low light situations.

This camera was perfect for our vacation! We were even able to do 'selfies' with it. My only negative was the distortion on the lens was a bit high, but that's expected with super wide lenses. The low light level is also pretty impressive. It's not as bad as I thought it would be.
