Amazing sound quality

I feel like I'm sort of in-between sizes on the ear tips, but the app helps you choose the appropriate size and lets you know if they are in air-tight. Connection is easy and stable and the different noice cancellation features are nice. They are worth the money.

The noise cancelling is great. The app is simple to use and there are plenty of YouTubers who have published EQ’s and info to get the best bang for your buck. Sony continues to put out firmware updates to improve the connectivity and sound but I wish they would have given these more effort. All in all I would give these a 7.5 out of 10. I’m happy with them but the difference between these and the previous model is minimal.

Great and Stylish Earbuds

For example, when someone is speaking to you it is not as clear as when you are not using the earbuds. And when speaking into the earbuds to negate typing text, it sometimes does reflect the expected words well. But an overall great experience and in my opinion, very stylish compared to Apple Earbuds and all other available offerings.

not as good as advertised

This setting automatically adjusts your noise canceling based on your movement or location, which is likely what is causing the mode to switch without your manual input. If adjusting that setting does not resolve the behavior, please follow these troubleshooting steps in order:

Best noises canceling

I used the previous generation for over 3 years, and the sound quality of this new version is a noticeable upgrade. I work in a very noisy environment, and the active noise canceling reduces the sound of the equipment by at least half—it's a huge improvement

Not as Dynamic as I thought

I spent the first few hours comparing both, and the Galaxy Buds Pro 3 delivered a more dynamic sound with richer bass that the XM5s just couldn’t match. The Galaxy Buds were also noticeably louder. On the positive side, the XM5s fit more comfortably than the Buds Pro 3. However, I found myself constantly readjusting them whenever I smiled or engaged in any activity, which became frustrating. Even after switching to the larger ear tips, the fit didn’t improve significantly. Overall, while the comfort was better, the sound quality and stability fell short of my expectations. I’ll be returning these.

Pricey - but very probably worth it

Whether I listening to music or watching a movie the sound is excellent. Using them on an airplane, the noise cancellation was excellent it reduces the sound of the aircraft to a nearly inaudible buzz. My one and only complaint is the fit of these earbuds. I think the most comfortable earbuds I've ever bought were jaybird, but their most recent entry into earbuds had some inexcusable issues. If Sony would improve the comfort and fit of their earbuds this would be the best earbud on the planet. I'm still giving these earbuds five stars because after a month of using these earbuds I've gotten used to the way they fit. I still think the fit could be better, but these fit passably well.

Owned for 8 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Solid headphones, only annoyances are that 1) the foam tips fall apart within a few months, 2) the touch controls go nuts when it rains a little, and 3) sometimes when cars pass by the bluetooth connection glitches for a few moments. The eartips is an easy fix (with more money of course) but the sensitivity in rain is so annoying when it happens and there isn't a way to turn it down or something. Oh well, maybe in 5 years when I get the WF1000XM7 it'll be fixed.
