FANTASTIC EARBUDS

Fantastic sound quality, comfortable to wear, they fit very securely in the ear without worry of falling out. They are packed with features. Industry leading noise canceling but i think ANC has a ways to go with earbuds in particular. I very much appreciate these earbuds. For the premium price I'd have liked to have a nicer case for them though the case geels a bit plastic and cheap. But overall very happy with my purchase

Better than the great XM4!

They are lighter, more compact, fit in the ear more comfortably, and sound at least as good. The XM5's, like the previous model, simply sound better than any earbud I've ever had, and the app allows you to tailor them to your taste. I can't recommend them too highly!

Best earbuds ever.

Battery life, ANC and quality are all amazing. Highly recommend.

Solid, expensive buds that are too hard to clean

I’m honestly not typically a fan of earbuds as they tend to be uncomfortable, don’t sound as good as over-ear headphones, and they fall out. These actually stay in place really well, and they come with multiple sized ear pieces for the best fit. They do sound pretty good, and the accompanying app does a good job of helping to customize your sound profiles. The ANC is fine. I don’t know how it compares to other brands and lines, but it certainly doesn’t block out all sound or anything. It definitely helps. I wouldn’t say they are comfortable, but I’ve never worn earbuds that were. To me, it’s more important they stay in when moving and sound decent, which these do. My only real complaint is the rubber that is used for the ear caps attracts wax like a magnet and is rather hard to clean. It looks pretty gross. Within a month of first getting them, I thought one of them broke because the volume dropped to a weirdly low level, just in one ear. It turned out the screen on the ear cap was clogged. It was hard to clean it off. Overall, I’m happy with them, but I wouldn’t spend the money again if they were to break (they better not).

We understand that the polyurethane foam ear tips can be a bit more difficult to maintain than standard silicone; because they are porous, we recommend cleaning them only with a soft, dry cloth rather than water or alcohol, which can cause the material to break down prematurely. For the issue you experienced with volume loss, you can gently rotate a dry cotton swab over the mesh surface to lift away buildup without pushing it further into the driver, or consider replacing the tips periodically as they are a consumable part.

Better ANC and more comfortable, odd mode bug

The only issue I’ve had is using them to mow the lawn: the loud mower sound seems to periodically confuse them and I have to switch the mode back to noise-cancellation. I didn’t have that issue my xm4’s. Battery life is amazing for a small pair of earbuds.

Not Cheap, But Worth It

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had a pair of Jabra Elite Active 75t earbuds for a few years and was satisfied with them. But age caught up with them and the right bud stopped working. After researching these Sony XM5s consistently came out on top. The build quality is what you'd expect from a pair of $300 earbuds. The memory foam ear tips are very snug yet comfortable and seal well in my ear. The sound is incredible. The difference from the Jabras is very apparent. Good, solid bass with treble response clear but not brassy. The earbuds simply give high quality sound across the rated audio range. Support for Spatial Audio or ATMOS provides an amazing listening experience. All in all these are by far the best earbuds I've owned and that includes a pair of Bose Free SoundSport. The noise cancelling is very adequate. I have no experience with Bose or Jabra to compare with. But, the one issue with using noise cancelling is motion. If you're working out, running, or even mowing the yard that motion drives noise cancelling crazy with very irritating scratchy sound. Touch controls are configurable with the phone app. This is also where you can disable noise cancelling and Ambient Audio. The software also offers several other parameters to configure such as tone and balance.

I already have the Sony over the ear headphones the 4th generation model and was sold on Sony as the superior sound over apple. these are awesome for working out and the fit is more comfortable and the bass is so much better. recommend to anyone who is looking for gym earbuds

ANC perfect for condtruction.

I do construction and the ANC works amazing for loud tools like a concrete saw or jackhammer. And I can hear my audio books just fine while operating them. They get me through a 10 hour shift. Have to keep my phone very close is the only down side I've noticed.

Good headphones

Solid so far

Great noise cancelling and usually comfortable enough to use them for a couple hours. Battery life is plenty for me (at least 2 hours). I'm a bit worried about long-term durability because I had the last model (4) and a battery failed in less than 2 years of moderate use. We'll see how they do in the next couple years.

The sound quality is excellent and noise cancelling is competitive with my Sony XM4 over ear headphones. Ambient noise detection is a bit odd, picking up a lot of weight room noises that probably aren’t that useful. My biggest concern was that they would fall out mid-lift, but that has not been a problem yet!

Best pair of earbuds Ive ever owned

They charging case supports wireless charging and they feel very comfortable and snug nicely in the ear. They arent the easiest to put in and take out but once you get used to it, they’re well worth the price. Would definitely recommend. Loved my soundsports before these but like these a little more.

Good Quality, Holding up after few months

The quality is much better than cheaper earbuds, but with the price that should be expected. It feels very comfortable in the ear and the noise canceling is better than any other earbud. My only complaints are the transparency mode is pretty good, but not as seamless as I think it could be, the app is a little confusing, and setting up the Google Assistant to it is annoying, and the tracking is alright (there's no tracking on the case itself)

These earbuds are just that in a small package. They check all of the boxes for todays earbuds. Noise cancelling? Pass through audio? Adjustable EQ? Touch controls? Long battery life? Rechargeable case? Bass that rivals some over the ear headsets? AI driven personal EQ finder? All yes. Worth the investment to me.

Top Quality For Music, But Not For Calls

My only gripe is the call quality wasn't as good as my Jabra Elite 10s and the app is clunky. The touch controls were also getting pressed by mistake when I'd have to adjust them from slowly falling out.

You can nod or shake your head to answer or not answer calls. Battery life is great, fast charging. Sound is remarkable for the size. Full EQ with the Sony app. Multipoint works perfectly. The touch controls kind of suck using volume but it is manageable
