For this concern we can recommend checking the Sony | Sound Connect app, where there's an option to "Bluetooth Connection Quality." You can often choose between "Prioritize Sound Quality" (which uses higher-bitrate codecs like LDAC) and "Prioritize Stable Connection." Selecting the latter might reduce instances of distortion in busy areas by optimizing the connection for stability.

A welcomed upgrade

The dual connection works almost seamlessly between my S23 Ultra and Tab s8 Ultra. The smaller size sits more comfortable in my ears which has been a pain point for me from the weight of the XM4s. These XM5s have great sound quality, really cool features with Google Assistant as well as nodding your head to answer calls, or shaking your head to decline calls. Don't let the glossy plastic finish fool you, these aren't cheap at all. I've been on the hunt for a good set of daily drivers and I have finally found it.

Very Good Sounding Earbuds

If you’re a basshead defintely consider these earbuds, the only area they fall behind in is noise cancellation, its not the best but not bad either. Overall very solid pair of earbuds so far.

Was never able to run down the battery in a full day, even with noise cancelling on. Sound is good for a consumer product, but definitely not groundbreaking.

Especially for price point it needs to be better and it just falls short

So far love them! Great sound, noise cancelling is great, and they don't fall out. Really like being able to connect to two devices at the same time. Full disclosure, the first pair I opened had some sort of software bug with the audio passthrough but Best Buy swapped them out.

Sony WF1000XM5 earbuds

The sound is great with nice fidelity and great bass. They are smaller and more comfortable than the wf1000xm4. The noise canceling has improved slightly as well.

Best Sound Cancelling You Can Find

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased my second pair after the last pair had issues, try all the other brands high end earbuds, Sennheiser, Bose, Apple, Jabra, Shokz, Samsung, and I still came back to the Sony WF1000XM5, reason I could not find anything with better sound-cancelling with the same level of sound quality. These are the best sound cancelling I have ever had the pleasure to use. The only issue with there sound cancelling is the tips. They use foam tips for better sound cancelling, Great Choice but, they are nearly impossible to clean to the level I like. I like sterilize my earbuds and electronics ever once in while, and the tips are not capable of handling any chemicals really. Warm water and a cloth is best. No soap. I got the protection because of the tips but completely worth it for 2 years of protection. If the tips tear or rip, as they do sometimes, so it is covered. I just can bring them in and get them replace. Worth the money for the audio quality and sound quality.

Outstanding

I use mine mostly in the shop. The ambient mode works great. All i have to do is talk. Music stops plaing. So I can have a basic conversation. With out having to get my phone out and manualy turn the music off.

Great! Everything I'd Expect

High quality sound, excellent battery life, superfast charge, great noise cancelling. The call quality is exactly the same as other brands ive tried (normal, but muffles at times.) as is the 'super advanced better than anyone elses' 360 audio... i couldnt tell the difference. The case if very slippery. I can confirm that they are sweat resistant as i sweat buckets at my job while using them.

Great sound and noise cancellation

The ANC is top-notch and does a great job blocking out background noise. My main issue is with the ear cushions, they feel a bit uncomfortable after extended use and sit oddly on the ears. Great sound and noise cancellation, but comfort could be better.

Not a secure fit

But the ear tips are gross. They are foam and hard to clean and I clean my ears every day. They always squeeze right out of my ears. I purchased silicone ones but the sound and ANC is not as good. I called Sony and got replacements that were basically like the expensive tips I bought except with no mesh to keep gunk from getting into the speaker. I am about to return them for some OTE Bose. Other than that I like everything else. Just doesn’t work for my ears.
