Sony - WF1000XM5 Noise Cancelling Ear Buds

Thanks for sharing your review and experience with the WF1000XM5. We're glad that you like the sound quality and battery life of the headphones. Your feedback about its fit is greatly appreciated. For optimum fit and comfort, make sure that you are wearing both earbuds properly. Put the headset unit with the (left) mark into your left ear and the headset unit with the (right) mark into your right ear. The left headset unit has a tactile dot. If you feel it is difficult to put the earbud tips into your ears, squeeze the earbud tips lightly before wearing the headset. Adjust the fit of the headset units to your ears. Hold and rotate the headset unit with your thumb, index, and middle finger to adjust the headset to fit your ear. After putting the headset unit into your ear, hold the side of the headset unit with your fingers and slowly push the earbud tip into your ear canal. Check if there is a gap between the earbud tip and your ear canal because the earbud tip is not inserted all the way into your ear or the earbud tip is the wrong size.

Awesome earbuds!

Has a heavy equipment operator they are perfect with noise cancelling setting and have great audio while lasting just long enough for a full days work. The only complaint i could say is they would be a little more comfy if they were just a tad lighter. Overall great product.

Good Product Held Back By the Eartips

They are significantly smaller than the XM4s which makes them more comfortable but the fit is actually significantly worse. The eartips are very thin and do not hold a seal which ruins the ANC and lead to me adjusting them much more which eventually made them uncomfortable. -The sound is good but no upgrade from the XM4 and falls behind the Bose QC Ultra earbuds. The EQ is very powerful and really lets you tune the sound to your preferences. -The connectivity is good but doesnt compete with the range and signal strength of the Jabra Elite 10 earbuds, plus the multi point connection often messes up and switches devices even if you are playing noise from the original device, very annoying. -The phone call quality is very strong and handles outside noise during calls very well. Significantly better than the Bose QC earbuds, Samsung Buds2 Pro and Jabra Elite 10. The Jabra Elite 10 being the second best for phone calls. -I would say maybe try these if the XM4s were too big and plan on returning them if the eartips dont work with your ears.

Noise cancellation is not good!

The sound quality is very good, however, I do not find the noise canceling to be good at all. I’ve tried all the different sized ear pieces and nothing seems to help. When in a meeting it almost seems to amplify outside noises more than quiet them. Other than the noise canceling issues these have been very good.

Disappointed in the connection and sound

Owned for 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've owned both the XM3 and the XM4; I am a total Sony headphone advocate but I really did not enjoy the XM5 and am returning it. The XM4s were quite a bit louder and the connection on them seemed better. The XM5s cut out on me far more frequently than the previous version and while the size and fit are much better, I decided that these aren't worth keeping for $300. Maybe around the holidays it'll get closer to $200 and it might be worth it; but when the AirPods Pro 2 can be picked up for $100 less, I really can't justify the price of these buds. At least the AP2s are louder, not to mention they have extra features if you're an iPhone user. In comparison, the Beat Fit Pro, which I purchased refurbished for around $100 is close enough in sound quality and noise cancelation that it was a far better buy for me. Android users, your use by vary but this is the first time one of the flagship Sony headphones have made me go... "meh"

I would return but 3 days late -_-

That's definitely not the experience we want for our customers. We also appreciate you letting us know about the issue with them falling out of the case.
For the connection issues and notification problems, we have a few recommendations that might help:
1. Try turning Bluetooth off on your phone and then back on. You can also try "forgetting" the WF-1000XM5 in your phone's Bluetooth settings, then re-pairing them.
2. Make sure your earbuds have the latest software. You can do this through the Sony | Sound Connect app.

Great sound and decent noise control

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great earbuds, I use them for my job mainly 8 to 10 hours with no problems on the battery life, but the real deal for me is the noise cancellation because I do a lot of concrete chipping , grinding, sometimes sandblast and those are really noisy, normally if I use a regular ear plugs the level of noise is bad and I end up with a ring in my ears for the rest off the day but with this earbuds I can work listen to my music and still have a conversation with someone else without having to blast the volume all the way up.

Amazing in Every Way!

Sony’s WF1000XM5 have, by far, been the best set of earbuds I have ever tried. While wearing them in bed, I had fallen asleep with them in by accident and in the morning when I woke up they were still in my ear! I’ve never had that luxury before. Best part was they weren’t even close to falling out. That paired with the amazing noise canceling and superb sound quality, they have easily beaten any earbuds I’ve tried!

THE BEST ones that I know of!! Bass is there treble is there the clarity is on point!!! The noise cancel is mind blowing!!!! I get that they are a little expensive but ditch the I phone buds and get these !! You won’t go wrong!! Also a big upgrade they don’t fall out

Amazing earbuds

Both the noise canceling and the aware mode are extremely effective. The only thing I will complain about is the app is a little annoying and the touch features aren't as versatile as the Apple AirPods as you can only assign certain features on each earbud.

Good noise cancelling. I like that you can switch between devices. I use two phone for work and this a very handy. I would have given five stars but the call quality is not very good. People have a hard time hearing me when. Using the headphones.

The sound is killer, noise canceling is unreal, and they stay locked in even when I’m mowing or on a flight. Pure comfort, clean audio, and that Sony reliability I count on every time. A little heavier that others and I did upgrade to Comply foam tips.

Unrecovered Buds

The right bug fell from ear too often; now it is unrecoverable. Sony need to better survey ear dimensions, through their demographics.
