Also started getting random static in the left ear. I don’t listen loud at all, but I’m pretty sure one of the drivers is blown

But th ear pieces makes the experienced almost not worth it. I still find myself using my airpod pros because they are so much more comfortable and the sound quality is hardly even distinguishable between the two.

XM 5 call quality in a loud environment

Sony, for this price the XM 5’s call quality in a loud environment is terrible when making calls. I am back to my Link S.

If the size of the earbud tips does not match the size of your ear canals or the headset is not worn properly in your ears, tap operations or Speak-to-Chat speech detection may not work correctly, or you may not obtain the correct sound qualities, noise canceling effects, or call performance. I don't know what about my daily use case is that does this, but I have repeatedly gotten a loud white noise after a couple months of use that destroys the quality of transparency and ANC. This is NOT the white noise that might typically come from ANC. This is almost like heavy rain, or a loud rumbling coming from one of the buds that completely ruins the listening experience. It appears all the sudden in one fell swoop and then will not go away. While I do truly enjoy the sound quality and user experience, and all the bells and whistles, I cannot accept these long term issues.

My buds kept connecting to my device, while in the case, therefore draining battery. By the time I wanted to use them, they never had enough power. I tried all of the steps for fixing it. Sony ended up sending replacement. will see if problem persists. Futhermore, phone call quality is pretty terrible. While I have no problem hearing the person on the line, the other people tell me I sound like I'm underwater

Good noise cancelling if they can fit and stay on

I have an Android phone, and it works really well with my phone. However, I had to return my earbuds because I have ears that have really huge openings, and the largest ear tip that came with the device was too loose for my ears. This made me force to really shove them deep in my ears to ensure they don't fall off, but in the process the notches for the charging contacts irritate my ears. I felt like if I have to deal with these inconveniences now, I'll have to deal with them for the duration of my ownership of the earbuds, so I had to return it and switch to the Bose earbuds.

For optimum fit and comfort, it is recommended to wear the headphones properly. Twist the headset unit to fit it snugly into the ear canal, and adjust the positioning of the headset unit until it fits comfortably. The most suitable size of the earbud tips for left and right ears may be different. The “Sony | Headphones Connect” app allows you to determine which earbud tips suit you best to achieve the optimal noise canceling effect, sound quality, etc.

The WF1000XM5 work well with both Android and Iphone devices. For optimum performance, ensure that the headphones software is updated as it includes key features, applications, bug fixes, and feature improvements. Please try some solutions below to troubleshoot if pairing with a Bluetooth device cannot be done.
Bring the headset and the Bluetooth device within 1 m (3.2 ft) from each other.
If there is a device nearby that has been connected with the headset using LE Audio before, the device may be automatically connected with the headset when the headset enters pairing mode. Turn off the Bluetooth setting of the device with the connection history, and then pair the headset with a new device.
Restart the connected device such as a smartphone or a computer you use, and pair the headset and the device again.
Charge the charging case.
Reset the headset.
Initialize the headset, and pair the headset and the device again.

Sound quality, top notch

And i understand they improve them making them lighter, more compact, etc but, they still fall off just by my ears being moved or something moving it, not stable. Another thing is the inserts why not silicone. A cushion like is very uncomfortable when you sweat, gets wet or gets dirty. It always reminds me i have to clean my ears. Thats not nice. I pay for an experience not a reminder.
