Regarding the noise cancellation, while the WF-1000XM5 offers active noise cancellation (ANC) that effectively reduces ambient sounds, it may not completely block out very loud, low frequency noises, such as those from construction sites, for example.

To improve your noise canceling experience, we recommend using the Sony | Sound Connect app to customize the ANC settings based on your environment.

Thanks for sharing your review and experience with the WF1000XM5. We're glad that you like the sound quality and battery life of the headphones. Your feedback about its fit is greatly appreciated. For optimum fit and comfort, make sure that you are wearing both earbuds properly. Put the headset unit with the (left) mark into your left ear and the headset unit with the (right) mark into your right ear. The left headset unit has a tactile dot. If you feel it is difficult to put the earbud tips into your ears, squeeze the earbud tips lightly before wearing the headset. Adjust the fit of the headset units to your ears. Hold and rotate the headset unit with your thumb, index, and middle finger to adjust the headset to fit your ear. After putting the headset unit into your ear, hold the side of the headset unit with your fingers and slowly push the earbud tip into your ear canal. Check if there is a gap between the earbud tip and your ear canal because the earbud tip is not inserted all the way into your ear or the earbud tip is the wrong size.

While the WF-1000XM5 earbuds use advanced Bluetooth technology to maintain a stable connection, short interruptions may still occur in environments with heavy interference—this is a common challenge across all Bluetooth devices.

If you often experience dropouts, you might try moving closer to your device, ensuring there are fewer obstacles, or limiting the number of other Bluetooth or Wi-Fi devices in the immediate area. Using updated device firmware and the latest version of the Sony | Headphones Connect app can also help optimize connectivity.
