Whether I listening to music or watching a movie the sound is excellent. Using them on an airplane, the noise cancellation was excellent it reduces the sound of the aircraft to a nearly inaudible buzz. My one and only complaint is the fit of these earbuds. I think the most comfortable earbuds I've ever bought were jaybird, but their most recent entry into earbuds had some inexcusable issues. If Sony would improve the comfort and fit of their earbuds this would be the best earbud on the planet. I'm still giving these earbuds five stars because after a month of using these earbuds I've gotten used to the way they fit. I still think the fit could be better, but these fit passably well.

Very impressed with noise canceling and clarity. I was at the gym and they were pumping music. I got a call and I answered the phone. The earbuds quickly switched to the call and had a quick conversation and then hung up. Noise canceling worked so good the caller never heard the music playing in the gym. Walking on a windy day down a sidewalk and had a conversation on the phone without any trouble. Different style music play well anywhere. Music automatically stops when responding to someone in a conversation is amazing. If you're listening to music the music stops and you can begin to have a conversation. Once the earbuds know you have stopped talking then the music will begin to play. I really like this feature.

Serious Noise cutting Buds

These are a premium product for cutting noise. I am a bit disappointed with the sound quality. Even with the settings in the Sony software, they could have better spatial sounding. Don't get me wrong they hit hard but I expect better from Sony Sound. It is there in the LinkBuds S so what happened here? Also, I feel the LinkBuds S are better fitting. You have to play with the ear tips to get a good comfortable fit. Sometimes I feel like they will fall out but that has not happened. No ear fatigue either.

Good, but not great - suggest trying before buying

The sound quality is good in a controlled environment, but for activities and plane travel not so good in my opinion. I bought these after using the Sony WH-1000XM5 over-ear headphones. I wanted a more portable option. Unfortunately these will not fit my ears well. At home I tried all ear cup options that came with it, and also bought an after market version. After finding the best fit and wearing them at home (still concerned with them falling out), I traveled with them. On the plane they kept falling out after 15-20 minutes. Then touching them causes the controls to kick-in. I finally disabled the touch controls, and had to keep pushing them in. Even with tight fit after pushing in, the noise canceling is not near the quality of the Sony WH-1000XM5. I know it won't match an over-the ear style, but was quite disappointed overall. For plane travel now I will only use the Sony WH-1000XM5.
