I loved them so much I bought a second pair of a guy on FB marketplace. I'm an asphalt guy and work regularly more than 12 hours daily in the summer. With LDAC, sound sent to priority if you don't use any ambient noise or noise cancelling these regularly last more than 12 hours. I put them in my ears at 630am and don't take them out until 630 or later. If there is a rare time they need to be charged on a late day a quick charge for like 10 min gets me like 5 more hours. Case lasts 2 days but no longer. Also the with Spotify Lossless they are the greatest headphones I have ever listened to. Work great as ear plugs in and around equipment. App can get weird but main settings are in android Bluetooth settings anyways.

The biggest draw to these headphones is definitely the great sound quality and the effectiveness of the different listening modes. My last pair of ear pods were the Apple AirPod Pros 2nd gen. In my opinion, these do a better job with noise cancellation and I find the ambient/listening mode way more useful as it balances the sound quality playing through them and crisp audio of noise in your immediate vicinity. Now for the drawbacks, or at least, things to consider… They make you download the Sony “sound connect” app, which I always find annoying, but does have some cool features. They have an adaptive sound feature where, based on your location and movement state (like sitting vs driving), they will automatically switch between noise cancellation and ambient sound modes. That didn’t appeal to me, so I mostly found myself using the app to manually switch between sound modes. The pods are meant to be able to change sound mode, volume, and pause/skip through tapping them, but I’ve found that they don’t always register the tapping. They often can’t tell it apart from laying down on them, and therefore don’t want to switch sound modes, making it easier to switch mode via the app. That’s a strength of apple airpods, where they have tapping, but also it’s easier to switch modes with just the drop down menu on your phone. These do a good job of automatically connecting to your device though. Another apple feature that these lack is the “find my device”, which I realize I needed more than I thought as I am prone to losing things. The charging case tends to not have as long of a battery life, though the pods themselves can hold a charge for a while.

Not necessarily an upgrade if you're moving from the WF1000XM4, but if this is your first pair of premium true wireless earbuds you're getting some of the best of the best. They're small so they fit in your ears without feeling like they're hurting your ears. The sound quality is top notch with tons of EQ options. The noise cancellation is about the same as the WF1000XM4 but not quite as good as the Bose QC II and the Airpods Pro still have the best of the best in transparency mode quality. I was able to get a solid 7 and a half hours of battery with ANC and being able to get an hour back in less than five minutes of charging is amazing. A solid choice for people who love music.

So far so good. Time will tell in terms of long term usage but the sound quality is very strong. Needs a little tweaking out of the box but it is pretty minimal tweaking needed. The ANC is great, and so is the comfort and fit. My 2 biggest critiques are that they made the earbuds and the case so tiny that they can be a pain to handle and take out of the case. They are slippery and small so you also end up hitting the touch controls all the time. And the ear tips that come with the buds are not great in terms of having a wide range of fits. I had to buy an aftermarket set to get a good fit.

Replaced my previous Sony headphones that were lost. Very comfortable to use and sync very quickly to any device I am using. The app is also helpful for sounds balance and they noise cancelling is pretty good for in ear headphones.

Really good bass and the ANC is top tier. If you are an android user, then it's a super easy yes. If you are an iPhone user like me then it depends on 2 factors. 1- Is Apple's ecosystem important to you? If the answer is yes, then go with the Air pods Pro 3. If the answer is no, then get the Sony's. 2- Is sound/bass more important to you? This is where the Sony's are better. Especially in the bass. Another plus is the sound customization you can use with these. It does have preloaded as well, but I actually fined tuned mine more and it's just perfect for me. I use this on my iPhone 17Pro Max and Apple 4K TV with zero issues.

After years of using Airpod Pros and not being all that impressed, I recently bought these Sony earbuds. What a huge difference! Sound quality is way better. They fit my ears better and are more comfortable. Great battery life. They also have a lot more sound customization than are offered on the Airpods. Highly recommend.

I thoroughly enjoy the experience of using Sony wireless headphones for several reasons. Firstly, the sound quality is exceptional, delivering crisp and immersive audio across various genres. These are spendy but they work, they FIT, They are multipoint, LDAK is "lossless" for those of us who like to pretend we can tell the difference between high and master settings on TIDAL or other fancy streaming/download services. Not to mention, it is some dark magic that these phones can bump as hard as they do pushing this level of quality sound while having any decent battery life to speak of. Their app is one of, if not THE best of all the smartphone apps, especially among those that the app is required. There is one issue I cover at the end. The 360 Audio is great and not overcooked like so many companies who be like, "We aren't Dolby but, Hey look over there!" They are light-weight, low profile, have superb noise canceling (not as good as Bose, but Bose's offering in this category is a non-starter for SO many people not just me) and their sound profiles are amazing. Ah-MAZE-ing. They are even water resistant ALMOST as good as Samsung, just one IPX rating lower, and Samsung uses their ruggedness against water and dust as a major, and valid, selling point to make up for their other shortcomings. If you are in the $300 price range or considering it, Sony's model WFthehecktoolongmodelnumberXM5's are a lot like that nice, smart, but small and quieter kid who's dad has been teaching them Jiu-jitsu since before they could walk. They are awfully dominant at this premium price point. I am proud to have these and I am keeping until they fall apart. Ok, one thing I MUST say is REALLY bad but there is a super quick work around. Here it is: VERY serious issue. The APP is AMAZING and this won't bother some people but Sony is pretending they need a photo of your ears and head to optimize sound. I am not kidding. In a world where our data and likeness and voice and contacts and photos and on and on are everywhere, asking to take a photo of me in order to have access to use the $300 headphones you sold me is, pardon the pun, about as tone-deaf as a company could ever be. Now the work around is so easy they still get 5 stars. Just stick your hand or something in front of the camera and choose, "take photo manually." Then take two photos of your hand. The odds that there is ANY sound adjustment made between a photo of my fist and a photo of my actual ear is just not passing the smell test. This is so ridiculous it is hard not to call it nefarious but let's not assign malice where incompetence is available, Sony is not Alley-Ex TokTok, after all. They should have just put a photo of some ears and asked me to pick which ones mine most look like. Also their terms and conditions are 10,000 words and you must scroll through all of it. It basically says Sony will collect anything it can via these headphones and do whatever the heck it wants with whatever it can get. But so is everyone else and at least Sony is being honest about it. Once that is out of they way they are great. Really, go get these.

I have an iPhone 14 Pro with Airpods Pro 2nd gen and an Google Pixel 9 Pro XL with the Sony XM5 earbuds. The Sony XM5 are really good in sound quality and with the EQ you can make the your own. Great bass, good mid-range and great highs. All I'm missing is volume, I use them for work in a really noise environment and they couldn't keep up. Noise cancelling is good but I still prefer my Airpods Pro 2nd gen. Were the Sony XM5 disappointed me was on the transparency mode, I was expecting the same clarity and openness of the Airpods Pro but that never happened. Sony XM5 earbuds are great in sound, comfort, Noise cancelling and lots of features on the app.

The sound quality of these Sony earphones is remarkable. Years ago I had the XF-1000M3 that had amazing sound, but a little bulky. The XF-1000XM5 is less bulky, so it stays in ear a lot better. I listen to classical music while I walk and there is no comparison of sound quality with other brands, including Apple.

I normally do not like earphones and prefer headphones any day of the week, however in a work environment (at least mine) it's not always as convenient. Mostly due to comfort, ear irritation or generally much better sound from an overhead headphone. It is so important to have the proper size ear tip in these, it can't be said enough. The videos make it seam so easy of popping them in with a slight twist, however that's where I deduct a star as I have to twist back and forth to get good seal. With noise cancelling feature turned on, man you can hear almost feel when it's a proper seal tho, it's amazing. Normally most earphones irritate me after a couple hours of wear, but these are not the easiest to set inside your ear but once they are set they are good. They are not fitness buds, so any activity I'm sure will cause them to fall out but they are pretty snug. Sony's Noise cancelling is one of the best according to the experts and I believe it. I know Apple's is good too, however the sound quality is much much better on Sony's. There are two choices for ambient sound control Ambient sound (passthrough) Or noise cancelling( on) However, in the app, you can turn on another option that basically is (ambient sound control off) It says its supposed to save battery life quite a bit, (it does) and once again to my previous point, IF YOU HAVE A PROPER SEAL, it's basically noise cancelling ON due to the tight seal but you are saving battery. You do hear slight noises you wouldn't hear with NC on vs Off, like tapping your finger on desk, or basically echo's through your body, but it's pretty good I found heavy use, ( NC ON, volume+%80, constant pausing, skipping to last +- 4hrs before one side having low battery. However when the setting for ambient sound off, no NC is selected, I did an 8 hr day and around %40 battery left per side. Definitely worth checking out that option, remember it's not perfect but battery life is impressive Sony sounds great , with ear tips were easier to fit, but I guess you get a great seal. I bet these are amazing when traveling on plane cancelling out all the wind noise

Great sound and coming from the well loved XM4 which had the left ear battery drain issues, this was a great alternative. Now I'm not a fan of the glossy finish compared to the Matte of the xm4 but it is what it is. sound quality is better but for some reason drops on the left ear on ,y Z fold 7 so could be a bad model or something. but beyond that the noise cancellation is top tier for earbuds. If you take Mass transit all you will hear is your music. Great product.

These earphones are amazing! I love how they sit in your ear, and they come with different sizes so your ears don't hurt after a while. They also have an app that lets you change the sound settings, which is awesome for those who like more bass/treble or vocals in their music. The only reason I gave them 4 stars is because I'm a girl and my hair is almost always down, and when my hair is wet and touches my earphones, it acts like I pressed it with my finger. So then it's constantly pausing or skipping. If anyone knows how to fix this, please let me know. Otherwise, I really love these.

I have mostly used Sony earbuds. I had the Samsung something 3 pro. I could not get a good seal for best sound and noise cancelation. The 1000XM5's fit better and sound better. I liked some of the features of the Samsung 3Pro like voice commands to like, volume up/down, next song, etc. This is the 2nd pair of 1000XM5's I've owned The last pair was stolen. The XM5's though have a great fit with multiple tips, sounds great (even though.im mostly def in one ear) I can still register LOW low bass. So they still sound great.

Great earbuds. first snug and secure, the audio quality was amazing and crisp. Favorite ones yet, but preferred the design on the x4. These are light and i use them in the welding shop daily. Blocks almost all sounds around me when I'm not talking. Getting another pair tomorrow.

These are the best ear bus i have ever had. The soft foam is better for comfort but harder to clean than the silicone ones. The actual battery life is approximately 6 hours. They have great sound quality and the app is pretty slick.

They are so dang good, the sound quality has been everything I thought it would be, but what I care even more about is how comfortable they are, and they really are, I work 8 hours day in an office and want to enjoy my music and work training in peace and that is what they offer, they are easy to set up and the dual phone connection mode works well enough, very few issues with it, nothing that would stop me from telling others about it, sony has come in with a winner and I will get an update when they come out as well.

Excellent Sound, lots of great features. Noise cancelling is very impressive. Blocks most airplane noise. Battery life is accurate to specs. Also has EQ, Surround mode, and more!

The WF-1000XM5s is a significant upgrade from WF-1000XM4s. I've previously owned the WF-1000XM4s and the XM5s are generally a bit better than XM4s where the XM5s have WAY BETTER battery life, slightly better noise cancellation, more comfortable, and slightly better sound quality (XM4s have better bass sound). I would spend the extra money to purchase the XM5s over the XM4s, because the XM4s battery life is SO BAD.
