    I've had these earbuds for over a month and I can say definitively that they are one of the best earbuds I've used. The customization alone makes them ideal for people that like to have different sound settings.

    I've had a Sony WH1000 over the ear headphones, the performance is superb. The fit and finish is spot on the money. Its everything i expected, but sadly I lost it somewhere and i miss it. So i went and got this set of earbuds.

    The noise cancelling is terrible on these. They do have good sound but not great. I took these back and got Bose quiet comfort and the low sounds are even clearer but these do sound good. Also the case and ear buds are very small, much better than Bose. HOwever the noise cancelling is so bad I couldn't use them. If noise cancelling isn't big for you they will probably work but the Bose are cheaper and just as good.

    I had to return these despite wanting to love them, I really like the app that comes with it but they feedback unlike any buds I’ve ever had and I tried all sizes of the ear plugs, not one kept them in my ear.

    Got these to upgrade from my galaxy buds. Sound quality is great but that's about where the positives end. The noise cancelling causes a popping sound in the left bud whether on ambient sound mode or noise cancelling and apparently this has been an issue with the XM4's and has carried over. You have to go into the app to completely turn this off and then they sound great but don't get to use the noise cancelling, so that has become a useless feature. They also disconnect randomly which isn't an issue I've had with any of my other headphones (galaxy buds, beats, off brand amazon buys) which can be extremely frustrating. Overall I cannot recommend these headphones. I would suggest looking at something else. I'll likely be going back to Samsung after this snafu.

      If the headphones randomly disconnects, please ensure that the headset and the Bluetooth device within 1 m (3.2 ft) from each other. Bluetooth communications may be disabled, or noise or audio dropout may occur under the following conditions.
      When there is an obstacle, such as a part of the body, metal, or a wall, between the antenna of the headset and the playback device. In this case, moving the playback device closer to the antenna of the headset may improve the Bluetooth communications. The antenna of each left or right headset unit is built into the part shown in the dotted line below

      If you experience crackling, buzzing, popping, or vibration noises on your Bluetooth® headphones, follow these troubleshooting steps and check if it resolves the issue.
      Reset the headphones.
      Initialize the headphones.
      Pair the headphones with your device.
      We also recommend updating the firmware to latest version which is Version 3.3.1. Please launch the Connect app to check and verify the firmware.

    Overall a great product, really enjoy using these. If i had to knock it for something it would only be the transparency mode as it’s not the best but that’s it.

    I had Bose before this pair and Sony doesn't match that sound. I had trouble with them staying in even after changing the ear pieces serval times.

    Noise cancelling is super but they don't fit in my ears despite changing tips to 3 different sizes. Easy to drop calls and mess with settings d/t sensors on the body of the headphone which I touch a lot to push them back into my ears.

    Love walking with these. My first earbuds and glad they were Sony. Instructions? No; None included in packaging. Went to YouTube. Love the ear size option fittings My wife and can both use.

For optimum fit and comfort, make sure that you are wearing both earbuds properly. Change the earbud tips to ones that fit more snugly in your ears. When changing the earbud tips, try the earbud tip sizes in order from the larger ones to the smaller ones. The most suitable size of the earbud tips for left and right ears may be different.     Sony WF-1000XM5 These headphone were packed very nicely using minimal recyclable packaging and without excess materials. On taking them out of their small case and putting them in my ears, they fit! They made a gentle tone, and were connected to my phone. That easy! Sound is amazing right out of the box! What more can I say for the great experience in the first 5 minutes! On further testing, they continued to be very impressive! PROS: They provide amazing sound both at low listening and high listening levels. Base is very solid and present in just the right amounts even using the “flat” setting on the app! The highs are crisp and clear without “hurting” my ears due to excessively overpowering highs or lows. I highly enjoy listening to these buds at all listening levels! The storage case is small yet packs some charge to keep these things going. The case uses a USBc charging port and also can be charged on a standard wireless charging pad. I found that “tilting” the case to the side aided in removing the buds from the magnetic case. When you remove a bud from your ear (or if it should fall) the music pauses until you reinsert the bud or you push play again on your device. Yes, you can use just one bud in one ear if you place the other one in the case. Once you figure out where the capacitive touch pads are located on each bud, they work OK. However some gestures (volume) require up to 4 taps. The app is daunting at first. There is a lot going on and a lot you can do. If you take your time and use the built in help, you can figure it out pretty easily. You can connect 2 separate devices via Bluetooth that will be remembered by the buds. The app will show which devices you have connected and to which device you are currently using. The App will also show charge levels for each ear bud separately as well as the charge level in the case! Nice feature! Noise cancelling works. There are 3 settings in the app, Noise cancelling, Ambient sound, and Off. However using the left ear touch sensor it only toggles between Noise Cancelling and Ambient. If you want “off” I had to go to the App. CONS: The touch sensors are iffy. They work, but until you find the “spot” to touch, you will be fumbling and get frustrated. A raised “bump” on the pads would be welcome. I tended to go back to the app and do the changes. Four taps to change the volume is just way too complicated, you will default to your devices volume control. The app is busy and daunting at first glance. You need to study it and spend some time with it. It offers a lot of information and help once you get the hang of it. It is however well organized when you really work with it. Using the triple dots in the upper right corner you will be offered a tutorial. That’s a great place to start and learn about the features. CONCLUSION: I really love the sound on these buds. Not only are they light and fit my ears right out of the box, they sound fantastic! They are buds I can wear for hours and not get tired of listening to them. The Flat equalizer setting never works on my other buds for my music tastes. However, on the Sony’s, the flat setting is my new go to. The sound is clear, undistorted, and clean, with some very good base that does not make my head tired after listening for awhile. The case size and charging capabilities are excellent. The app offers some excellent help and features. The touch sensors on the buds themselves are not my favorite, I tend to go back to my device for volume control. However the sound and comfort still pushes me to give these buds a 5 star rating and to recommend these to a friend.

    Do not buy, way overrated and overcomplicated

    If zero stars were an option, id probably select that. Other than the nice case, these are worthless. I have disliked them from day 1 but tried them for a few weeks, and now want to throw them away. They rarely function normally, sound quality is mediocre, not loud like I enjoy during my workout. Sony makes you use this app for everything, and its a gigantic pain. Way to over complicate something so simple… seriously these are worthless… I hope to recoup 25% of my investment on these… wont even use them as backup headphones because they are unreliable.

      Adjust the volume on the connected device.
      Set the headset units into the charging case, and close the charging case lid. You may be able to resolve some issues by setting the headset units into the charging case.
      Reset the headset.

    I tried every bud tip and even some old ones I had laying around and I could not get a good seal. As a result they kept falling out of my ear and active noise canceling would not work. The sound seemed very distant and low quality and they feel very bulky in the ear. Had to return them.

    Overly complicated. Nice 3 soft rubber, small med, and large for ear size, but still fell out very easy. Sound was good but not over the top for price. Returned.
