I know it is touted all over package that they last three hours on a charge, but in my in my use, I got less. The battery case does recharge them on the go, but it takes too long. My biggest issue is that the app does provide eq settings for them, but you can't create your own.

On the plus side they stay in place very well and are comfortable. They connect quickly and stay connected reliably. On the downside the sound quality is just good but not great and the noise cancellation is not the greatest. The case is too big to put in your pocket comfortably. Overall I’d say 3 stars maybe 3.5.

True wireless earbuds… It’s almost like a new buzz phrase. Everyone seems to be releasing their version of these things, so the market is getting a little cluttered. Sony has added their second iteration to this design, the WF-SP700N. It appears to be a great follow up to the original 1000x set. I really do pay a lot of attention to packaging, especially when it comes to technology. Great packaging gives me an assurance first, that the product is safe; second, a feel for the overall value. After all, if the company doesn’t value what they sell, and your initial impression, you could spend your money elsewhere. Sony doesn’t seem to disappoint in this area. These buds were packaged nicely, with a small tight box holding all contents securely. There are 2 sets of instructions (one quick start), a charging cable, and extra earbud gels of various sizes. The earbuds have a charging case that is pretty compact, yet handy. The case top swivels around by sliding it left or right, exposing the charging/resting area for the earbuds. The top is spring loaded, so when close to either resting position, open or closed, it will give a little assistance in getting there. I found this case to be a little more ergonomic and appealing than the one for the 1000x. The 1000x case does have a bit more of a premium feel to it, but this set is geared more toward active wear. That difference is immediately noticeable. Pulled them out of the box, and the difference in the earlier model really stands out. It’s a bit odd to say, but they feel bulkier but slimmer at the same time. The 1000x set seemed to feel like they were sticking out too much, as if the inner ear gel carried the bulk of the weight. The 700N looks larger, but sits closer to the ear, and feels as if it has a better resting position – more secure. I think the overall look of the 700Ns is decent; not the sleekest design, but also not the worst. The fit however is admirable. These feel just as snug and comfortable as some of my best wireless buds – some of the top brands in the industry. In my opinion, fit is second only to sound when it comes to earbuds. If they aren’t comfortable, and don’t make excellent speaker to ear seal/contact, they have lost half the battle. Thankfully, Sony has done a decent job at making this set comfortable with a good seal. Pairing these was extremely easy. I had these paired to my Android device in about 30-45 seconds, easily. After that, it was basically like using any other set of phones. One thing I did notice, however, was a mistake in the instructions. The instructions had a button configuration backwards. It resulted in me inadvertently ending a couple of calls – that definitely needs attention. How do they sound? Good. Very good. I thought they offered good sound clarity with excellent detail and power. Whether listening to music, podcasts, etc., the clarity of the 700Ns really stood out. Call quality was also good on the listening side. I could hear the caller loud and clear with no distortion. On the other end of things, not so much. The active noise cancellation is just ‘okay’ at best. What happened to the days of things like the ‘noise assassin’? There is considerable background noise, sometimes to the point of distracting the caller from hearing what’s being said. I will say, it is better than the 1000x, but there is work to be done here. Overall though, I like the sound and communication qualities of the 700Ns. Battery life is also commendable in this set; much improved over the 1000x. They can be a little tricky putting them into the charging/carrying case, but after a few attempts, it becomes second nature. I have to say, these work as a daily driver for listening on the go or during moderate exercise. Looking for a good set of wire free earbuds at a reasonable price? This may be the set for you. They sound good, fit well, have decent battery life (with extended life in the case), and have the Sony brand behind them. Maybe not the best, but a very good product.

I really enjoy these- I chose these over Air Pods and I’m not disappointed. I feel like they could hold charge longer, so not giving 5 stars. Otherwise they’re great!

I bought a pair of the same buds a couple of years ago and would have rated them 5 stars. I LOVED them. I gave them to a friend when I decided to get an newer buds of any brand even though my Sony still worked perfectly. And they were so comfortable to wear. So imagine my surprise to see just a 3.8 average review. I read all of the negative reviews and thought they were from people who were super picky. So I bought theses anyhow. For a newer version, I was expecting at least equal to my old pair or better. Instead they were below what I had with the old ones. 1) They aren't as comfortable as the old ones which was my #1 reason for purchasing them again. 2) The noise canceling isn't nearly as good. 3) The right ear volume is lower than the left so I have to turn them almost to the very high end of volume when I'm outside or vacuuming. And there is no way to adjust it through the app. The sound is fine for me since I am not an audiophile. Depending on what you want, it is just OK for me.

Sound quality is excellent, but the volume level max is low. I have to max out my device volume. If it wasn't for noise cancellation, it would be an insufficient volume level

Sony WF-SP700N True Wireless Earbud, is a great device for android if you don't have a iPhone or don't wanna buy the Apple Airpods. The Sony WF-SP700N are a great alternative to the airpods for even iPhones, but there are some features that are lacking compare to the apple Airpods or even the Jabra Elite True Wireless. The ability of the Airpods being able to mute when a earbud is taken out, or even the Jabra being more comfortable than the Sony Earbuds. Overall there still a great device that do the job for true wireless headphones, I will keep my review updated in case the headphones are having issues in the near future.

The report from the wife (whom this present was for): "Works great for listening to music while working out. No problems with them staying in my ears while I run. However, it is really hard to use them for phone calls. People tell me that my voice is broken and scratchy when using them."

I was excited to get the earbuds but was disappointed in the battery life. I wore them all day because I work from home and on the phone a lot with my job. I thought it would only drain battery when I’m on the phone but no they start draining as soon as you take them out of the case

I hated this product. I bought them for running. I thought they would be perfect because they are water resistant and wireless. The connectivity was horrible. They continuously disconnected and reconnected so many times that I shut them off after one song and ran in silence. I am better off with no headphones than with these. I can’t give an opinion on any of the other features, which I was excited about, because not even the basic functionality of playing continuous sound worked. I tried them again later and they still were horrible. I returned them.
