Little pricey but good
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These sound pretty good and I find them to be very comfortable. They are a bit pricier than other options, but I think the comfort makes it worth the extra cost

Good noise canceling but
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Battery life sucks and you can use the buds independently. I have the 1st gen AirPods and I can use one until it does then use the other. These can’t do that. I would not have bought had I known that

Why Left? It just isn't Right.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First, let me say I am giving this a 4 star review based solely on the sound quality and comfort. I believe those to be the two biggest factors in any headphone/headset purchase. I'll start with an interesting choice by Sony, there are no sound controls on the earpieces. This seems really odd. You can pause and resume play. Answer phone calls. Talk to your personal assistant. But I can't change volume. If you like the sound Sony is known for, you will be happy with these headphones. The Headphone Connect app includes a equalizer and enough controls to get the sound just where you want it. ANC (Active Noise Cancelling) is done pretty well. I would estimate 80-90% of background noise is eliminated. But this comes at a cost, battery life is probably cut in half. There are 3 modes, OFF, ANC and a pass thru mode that will play ambient sounds through the headphones. Battery life is quite good with ANC turned off. I have not completely drained them yet, but I would estimate a good 5-6 hours with ANC off before needing to recharge in the case. WIth ANC on, you can probably get about 3 hours. Your milage may vary. Oddly, I have not had a chance to test out the mic. After I use them in a few calls, I will add a comment to this review. IF I can find it again. Overall these headphones are really comfortable. The weight is almost not noticable, they are really balanced well. The power is on the left, which seems reversed to what I would expect. I am regularly hitting the wrong button to control tracks. The case will double your battery life. The headphones seem to charge pretty quickly in the case. If you aren't using them, put them in the case to stay at a pretty good battery level. Wireless range is really good. I can go a good 30 feet away before they start losing connection. Back to the left, when you pull the lefthand earpiece out of the charger, the power is turned on. This does not happen when pulling the righthand earpiece from the case. If you want to use one earpiece you are almost forced to use the left one or at least remove both from the case. As a personal preference, I like to use the right hand ear piece which sucks for me. IP rating is currently said to be IPX4 for splash and sweat resistance. For headphones marketed for workouts in mind, I would expect a higher rating. In conclusion. If you are a Sony fan and like their sound, then you will be quite pleased with these headphones. They are comfortable and very durable. The drawbacks are not enough to rate them poorly. I would recommend them to most anyone.

Not perfect, but pretty good!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was excited to get hold of my Sony - WF-SP700N noise canceling headphones, as they are touted as the 'Worlds first, truly wireless noise canceling earbud headphones'. Opened them up and they are in a sleek little package, easy to open with some extra start up guide instructions as well. Powered them on and they had about 45% charge from the factory. They are a little odd looking, mainly because of their 'bean' shape. But, they clip into your ear really nicely with the little protruding rubber arm that fits snugly in your ear. I paired them to my phone very easily, using the downloadable app that is part of the headphone set up process. You can control features from the app, including the noise cancelation, the ambient noise and turning off the feature completely. Fitting them in my ear, the bass was really, really nice. I had the large bud sleeves on the earbuds and the bass reverberated through my head. There was a little bit of crackling at first, but once I adjusted the noise canceling mode, I was able to eliminate the crackling in the right earbud. My only complaint was that the large earbuds started to hurt my ear cavity after a while, so I switched them for the medium sized ones. They fit me a lot better and allowed me to used the headphones for a lot longer without any pain, but, the payoff for the smaller earbud cover, is that the bass almost completely diminished. I can only presume that the bass is generated somewhat by the pressure of the ear buds on your ear canal, and by making the ear bud smaller, it wasn't able to make the bass sound as it did previously with the larger earbud in there. So, there is a trade off, great sound, or slightly painful ear canals. Tough choice. The carrying/charging case is really neat and stores the headphones really well. However, it is very slippery, and not easy to open with one hand, due to how slippery it is. You get up to 9 hours of play time from the headphones. 3 hours, then you have to charge them from the case, and the case holds 3 charges in it. Then you have to charge the headphones, in the case, for 1.5 hours. Then off you go again. Overall, I really like the headphones. They sound good, the noise canceling is there, but it's not 'amazing'. The ambient noise feature took some getting used to, but it's useful to be able to hear some things around you when running etc. The case is a great fit for the headphones and nice and compact, but it is slippery. Nice design and good sound. Enjoy!

True WireFree Active Noise Cancellation Sportsbuds
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got the Sony WF-SP700N bluetooth sportbuds primarily for listening to music at the gym, walking and cycling. They replaced necklace style bluetooth earbuds because I didn't like the wire/battery bouncing around the back of my neck or under my chin. The fit is excellent, they are very light, almost unnoticeable and they stay put in my ears. They may not be waterproof, but they are definitely sweatproof (this has been tested:^). Pros: Sound - Excellent. Clean, crisp, detailed, good bass without muddying up the midrange. Lots of preset equalizer options to tweak sound. Latency - No perceptible lag between the earpieces, which can be really irritating and disorienting. Noise Cancellation - Again, excellent, with options for on, off, ambient voice, and ambient warning noises. The ambient noise 'on' settings worked well for me. Both increased ambient noise volume over the 'off' setting. Ambient noise was imperceptible with noise cancellation turned on. Design/fit - relatively low profile, nicely rounded, light, and stays put in your ear. The retention fin really seems to help. Bluetooth - Easily pairs to multiple devices. Connection seems pretty stable, with no drops. App Support - The app adds a lot of controls, is easy to use and intuitive. Cons: Microphone - for calls, no better than acceptable. These won't take the place of a bluetooth earpiece except for the occasional call during a session. External sounds were picked up, as well as some wind noise. I suspect Sony used the same mic for both voice calls and ambient noise pickup. If you need to make a call, get to a quiet place. Mono call support - only the left earpiece is used for calls, the right one goes mute. Controls - two small buttons, one on each earpiece. No on-earpiece volume control. The button functions are overloaded onto short press, double press, and long press. And for some functions you have to remember which earpiece to use. Plan on getting the app. Battery life - ANC takes a toll, I got about 3.5 hrs on a full charge before I had to recharge. The case can recharge them twice and I got about a 50% charge after about half an hour. The SP700N's are definitely worth your consideration, especially for the gym or other sports activities. The sound quality is really excellent for sportsbuds. The ability to switch between full ANC and ambient noise awareness is really nice and works very, very well.
