WH-100XM4 Review

The balance between the vocals and bass is perfect. The Noise cancellation on the headphones is great. It doesn’t cancel out every single thing but other than that it is good. The app it comes with as well is leagues above the others.

The World Will Cease to Exist

I plugged it into my radio and at first the sound kept cutting off and on but once I was settled in my chair, it was great. When I plug it into my MP3 player and start exercising, there is occasional static. But there is nothing happening to make me want to return them. Once I get into the music, I don't notice any imperfections. They will make you forget the world exist around you. The noise cancellation is awesome! I purchased these so I could listen to music as my family watched TV. I was in my chair waiting for my sister to cook breakfast. I kept looking at my watch because it was taking so long. Finally I went into the kitchen and my food was on the table. I asked my sister why she didn't call me and she angerly stated she called me four times and I ignored her. I had to explain I had my "Noise Canceling" headphones on so I literally couldn't hear her. :o) It was AWESOME!

Have not yet tried them on an airplane, but should be nice and quiet. Sound is very good. Can do a number of things; I have yet to learn them all, but they appear to be quite logical. Worthwhile purchase for traveling.

love the noise canceling

I love them the most when flying. I was on a flight with co-workers and i could see them looking annoyed... apparently a baby had been screeching for at least a half hour. I wouldn't know because I didn't hear any of it. If you can get them on sale they're a great pair of headphones

Great headphones, garbage controls

I prefer them to my bose headphones. That being said, the touch controls on the headphones are a huge steaming pile of garbage. Whoever had the bright idea to implement it was either in to deep to back out or purely clueless to what people want in their products. I have 20 year old vending machine headphones with better controls.

The active noise cancellation is excellent, the sound quality is great, and the comfort when using these headphones has been great so far but they do get a bit uncomfortable if listening for a long time.

You may be experiencing a symptom called listener fatigue. That is where your eardrums work hard to manage the volume that flows through your ear canal. The louder the volume, the bigger the strain on your eardrums, which then causes the feeling of fatigue. Try lowering the volume or take a break from wearing them for a while. The longer you wear headphones, the more your ears may hurt. You may need to limit your headphone usage.

They are quite comfortable, although I do notice a little tension in my neck and behind my ears sometimes if I have them on for more than a couple hours. They feel nice, great quality and sleek, matte black. I would definitely recommend these !

JUST DO IT ALREADY

After using both for about 2 weeks 8 hours a day for work, I can confidently give my results.... BOSE had the better NC and phone call quality... However, Sony wins on every other aspect you can imagine... Sound quality is substantially better with music and voices in general.. Not to mention you can also adjust the frequencies to your own liking.. The app is a little weird and not every feature is fully explained on the Sony headphones, but I am so glad I got them.. There are already a lot of lengthy reviews but basically between these two, I would go sony every time.. Noise cancelling is amazing but just not quite up to par with bose in my opinion.. There are different reviews stating otherwise but IN AN OFFICE SETTING, I can hear my keyboard when I type having the sony headphones on.. With BOSE, I could not hear my keyboard... However I keep hearing sony blocks more overall frequency but I have just not been in the situation to compare.

Noise cancelling feature is great, helps to keep the noise down much more in this family setting I am in (kids, dogs, ect). My biggest positive is the charging and battery life. You charge this thing for 5 minutes and I swear it can still last you for two full days!
