Only thing I hate is having to wear a diaper. The headphones are very beautiful like that girl who looked at my yesterday at Best Buy. I think she likes me. Mine have the reverse noise cancelling. Nobody can hear what I’m listening to. Great!

The Noise-Cancelling is awesome. I love that you can connect to two devices at the same time. Covering the headphone with your hand to hear outside noise is nice touch. I always prefers the over-head earphone as it provides a better sound experiences and noise cancelling quality. The noise cancelling was amazing especially in the airplane which helps me a lot.

The batteries last a fair amount of time and charges quickly. I also have a Bose 35 and either one is good. I say....always try the ones you are looking for and get the one that you like.

Thanks for sharing your review and experience with the WH1000XM4. We're glad that you like the sound quality and noise canceling function of the headphones. It's unfortunate that you are experiencing connectivity issues.
For optimum performance, make sure to update the software version of the headphones (via the Sony Headphones Connect app). You may also find these steps helpful:
-Set the headset to “Priority on stable connection” mode using the Sony Headphones Connect app.
-Remove any obstacles between the antenna of the connecting Bluetooth device and the built-in antenna of the headset.
-Bluetooth communications may be disabled, or noise or audio dropout may occur under the following conditions:
>When there is a human body between the headset and the Bluetooth device. In this case, put the Bluetooth device in the same direction as the antenna of the headset to improve the Bluetooth communications.
>When there is an obstacle, such as metal or a wall, between the headset and the Bluetooth device.
>In places with wireless LAN, where a microwave oven is used, electromagnetic waves are generated, etc.
>Where there are other wireless communication audio devices or other people nearby, such as in train station premises or on a crowded train.

Resetting and initializing the headset may also help resolve those issues:
Resetting the headset
-Press both the (power) button and the CUSTOM button simultaneously while charging. The headset will be reset. The device registration (pairing) information is not deleted.
If the headset does not operate correctly even after resetting, initialize the headset to restore factory settings.
Initializing the headset
-Turn off the headset while the USB Type-C cable is disconnected and then press and hold the (power) button and the CUSTOM button simultaneously for 7 seconds or more. The indicator (blue) flashes 4 times, and the headset is initialized. This operation resets volume settings, etc. to the factory settings, and deletes all pairing information. In this case, delete the pairing information for the headset from the device and then pair them again.

I've never owned a wireless set that reproduced sound so well. I don't generally gush over things in reviews but Sony has a real accomplishment here. It hearkens back to the audiophile reputation Japanese companies had through the 80s.

Best Headphones I’ve Ever Had

Decent app that allows for equalizer adjustments. Not as seamless with Bluetooth connections as Apple AirPods. Would have preferred dedicated buttons to the trackpad style gestures.

Comparing to my old Bose QC35, this headphone fares better in term of sound quality and features. I am still not use to using gestures to control the headphone. The phone automatically detects when I talk and stop the music. In a noisy environment, this features mistook someone else talking next to me, sometimes does not work well and stop my music when I am not even talking. Kind of annoying.

Your feedback about the Speak-to-Chat function is greatly appreciated. The Speak-to-Chat mode activates when it detects the speech of the person wearing the headset. In places with a lot of noise, the speech of the person wearing the headset may not be detected, and the Speak-to-Chat mode may not activate. If this is the case, speak longer and louder. In some cases, in extremely noisy environments such as a train station or airports, the Speak-to-Chat mode may not activate even when speaking longer and louder.
Note: By changing the sensitivity of the automatic audio detection in the Sony | Headphones Connect app, the Speak-to-Chat mode can be easier to activate. Unfortunately, this may also activate accidentally the Speak-to-Chat in response to the voices of other people, ambient environmental sounds, transportation announcements, etc.

The noise cancellation on these are amazing!! Perfect for traveling, walking the busy streets, or simply listening to in your own home. I have always been a Bose person, but these are better than the Bose 700 in my opinion.
