Keep in mind that if you have Adaptive Sound Control enabled, it could impact the noise-canceling effectiveness, so you may want to consider modifying that setting as well.

Almost negative support from Sony. I had issues with this headset randomly turning the ambient mode on and off and Sony just said “get a different headset”. They don’t support the software nearly as much. Besides this the actual audio experience is very nice, comfortable and light headset with a nice rounded lower bass

Speak to chat works for me whenever im at the store or at home doing yard work with my family, and the pause whenever you take them off is helpful as well.

These offer fantastic sound and clarity without being plugged in. I have the bose Q35 wireless that I also like more for ANC but the audio is better with the XM-4's IMO. THe ANC is better with the Bose but these get the job done. If I were going on a plane I would take the Bose. If I wanted music I go for the sony and not plug it in because they are that good.

The noise canceling function is effective in low frequency ranges such as airplanes, trains, offices, near air-conditioning, and is not as effective for higher frequencies, such as human voices. If the noise canceling function is not sufficient. Check that the Adaptive Sound Control is turned off. Check the setting of the Adaptive Sound Control on the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app. When the Adaptive Sound Control is turned on, the noise canceling function may become insufficient.
