He studied the features of different brands and ultimately chose this one. So far he has been super happy with it. He is in college and studying from home, so a head phone is a must have item. I thought price was too high, but similar products with the similar quality was around same price range. So I stayed with his choice.

Great upgrade from the WH-1000XM2

The tips of my ears would get sore after a couple of hours or so. The XM4 has improved cushioning, fitting a lot better around my ears. The multi-point feature took a bit to set up, but once it was up and running, it was great switching back and forth between my phone and laptop.

Also, voice muting is very sensitive. Even if just clearing my throat, the headphones will mute. Sound is good and noise cancelling works well though. Comfortable fit on my ears with no pain from long usage.

I was on an airplane with a crying baby behind me and could barely hear it. Great quality audio and I love the auto-adjust feature on the noise canceling too. Only downside is they get a little heavy if wearing for a long time.
