Pretty great headphones, just not too durable

If you have an LDAC-supported device, even better - Noise cancelling is pretty good, and lots of options. Same with EQ - It feels comfortable on my ears. I also tried Bose QC, but these feel larger and fit better - Battery life is great. I have forgotten to charge it overnight while listening to music most of the day with noise cancelling, and it has lasted two days Mixed: - Support app is fairly cool? But kinda annoying that you need a mobile app to change settings - Gestures for media control are kinda cool, but you run the risk of mis-inputing Cons: - Build (maybe just personally). See below - With LDAC, you can only pair with one device (although I seem to be able to pair two with a DAC just fine?) This is actually my second pair of these, because the first ones stopped working, and I've noticed already that some features (namely, pause when disconnecting) stopped working.

Great sound and microphone quality. Excellent background rejection on the mic and excellent noise cancellation. They fit well, do not squeeze hard, and work with glasses wearers. I have had mine for close to 3 years now and use them for music and work calls daily. Battery and pads are still in great condition. 100% worth the money.

Best wireless headphones I've ever had.

I keep forgetting I have them on except of course for the lack of ambient noise gives it away lol. Relatively simple setup. The fact that it supports 2 BT devices at a time is also a great feature. I can have it connected to my phone while I teleconference on my computer. The battery life is UNREAL. I charge it daily but on occasion, when I forget I'm still wearing them and step away for the day, I just turn them off and use them the next day without worrying about them dying. I usually use them for work 12-16 hours a day and that's just amazing to me. My only critique would be the included USB cable is stupidly small. More like a patch cable(to my fellow IT pros) at only 6 or so inches in length. I almost forgot to mention the sound quality is some of the best I've heard from even wired monitors.

A more natural sounding solution

ANC is superb, they hold a charge for days. Calls are clear, interactions with digital assistant features are near flawless. After four sets of trying to get the Bose 700 corrected to no avail I decided to switch course and purchase the WH-XM4, my only regret is why I didn’t do this sooner. The Sony’s are AWESOME! Great sound, best noice cancelling, best App, best equalizer and best battery. 30 hours of battery compared to well you don’t know with Bose 700s, their firmware is all messed up, and after four pairs it only got worse. Sony offers a great, stress free listening environment. Music is crisp and clear, bass is awesome, however you like to listen to your music you can customize it to your liking. Great highs, midrange and lows and all adjustable. I have a wide range of music, so I tested them with all types of music and so far after one day I’m totally impressed, Sony M4s gives the best sound for your dollar, I’m sold!

The headphones are comfortable, have great sound quality. And most importantly cancel noise when I need to. The only downfall is that the headphones does pickup sound that is extremely close by. For example, I may have the noise cancelling setting on at work, and keying in numbers on a 10-key. Because the key strokes are so close, (less than a foot away) and loud, it seaps through the headphones. However, noise coming from further distances the headphones do block out. Other than that, the headphones have amazing battery life, are comfortable to wear for long periods of time, and I really do like how taking of the headphones pauses the music.

Pretty great, just like its predecessor

I’d never owned a pair of over-ears that I could comfortably wear all day and even night. These carry on much of what’s best about the XM3s. The padding is a little thicker, which is mostly great, but actually just a teeny bit less comfortable than the 3s to wear as a side sleeper at night, if you happen to need to. It’s a really minor difference though. The sound quality is better than I thought any bluetooth headphones could possibly be. The noose canceling seems very slightly improved over the 3s. Battery life is phenomenal. I can’t say if mine actually reach the 30 stated hours, but I can say they get over 24, which is pretty incredible. The 4s also have the ability to auto pause if you take them off. That’s kinda nice. They can also pair to two devices at once, which works... okay. If I use that, I get more “traditional” bluetooth issues like sudden un-pairing and re-pairing at random times. When paired to only one device, however, the connection stability is superb. Overall, it’s a great pair of headphones. Personally, I’m not sure if they’re worth the price premium over the WH1000-XM3s. I’m also not sure they aren’t worth it, though. It’s a close call. I still use both pairs every day.

Feel relaxed in a noisy world

Owned for 7 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.These are not my daily headphones but they are indispensable when I really need quiet and relief from the chaos that can be present in public places like airports and airplanes. On any flight, I actually feel less stressed and less tired after wearing my XM4's. They drown out the noise so effectively that it's almost like stepping into an isolation booth. My daughter borrows them when preparing for competitions so I gave her mine and bought a second pair. I considered the newer versions but I've been so happy with these that I didn't want to change anything. Highly recommended! Places used: airports, airplanes, track meets, at home when vacuuming :) My favorite feature: touching the pad of the headphones to turn on ambient sound so I can hear and speak to someone. The other related feature is that it will pause music and turn on ambient sound when you start talking so you don't have to manually pause and remove your headphones to do so. Audio automatically pauses when you remove the headphones as well. Other cool features: swipe up and down on the headphone surface to change the volume; swipe forward and back to skip tracks. None of the above would be worth mentioning if the sound quality was not as good as it is. It's not too boomy - the sound is crisp without being harsh. I grew up listening to high end audio and these headphones deliver.
