Small issues, but still great headphones
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.My one gripe with these is that they sometimes cut out while I’m listening to music. The other thing is that when I’m connected to two devices (IOS), and I take a call, it messes with the whole system until I can figure it out. This could be my own user error so take this with a grain of salt. That being said, these are probably the comfiest headphones I’ve had the pleasure of owning. They might be plastic, but that doesn’t take away from the overall quality at all. I can wear these for hours on end without it hurting my ears or head (and it never has hurt…ever). The sound is great for a casual listener without trained ears, and I love the way they look. Overall, those small issues might take away from these slightly, but I would absolutely buy them again.

Best headset for my needs.

Previous version broke after a few months, but this set has held for well over a year with no drop in sound quality both Bluetooth and wired. I use them on my PC with a separate bluetooth adapter for my computer and there is no quality issue. I use my headset for gaming, listening to music, and watching videos. A few issues to list: -Speak to chat often enables itself and I have to disable it by holding 2 fingers on the right side. This happens at random when I talk to people around me with the headset on. -If others in your household also have wireless headsets, the connection might struggle. (Roomates have wireless Steelseries). -No PC interface, it all has to be done through your phone app, which I rarely open. -A little pricey. It's a really good headset, but I would like more people to have access to this.

The Speak-to-Chat mode activates when it detects the speech of the person wearing the headset, but in rare cases it may activate in response to the voices of other people, ambient environmental sounds, transportation announcements, etc. Disable Speak-to-Chat in cases where the Speak-to-Chat mode frequently activates by accident.

Unfortunately, the Sony Headphones Connect app is only supported on iOS and Android mobile devices.

Great headphones, great battery life.

Owned for 10 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this to block out ambient noise so I could listen to my music, audiobooks, tv, and movies while I had downtime in my shop. It does a great job keeping out droning noises, but if there's a loud bang anything like that it would pick it up and pause anything I'm listening to at the moment. I've used this for long flights and it's been a godsend for when there are crying children on flights. I've worn it for about 8-10 hours at a time during flights or when I'm honed in on gaming/work and it does get quite hot around the ears so you will sweat. Not sure how to get around that, but the noise canceling, audio quality, and battery life were well worth the purchase. This pair is probably my most expensive purchase as far as OTE headphones go but was worth it. There's an app that you need to download with it but I don't really touch it. Sort of a set and forget and only go back to it if I need to toggle certain settings.

Absolutely the best over ear headphones

This from a long time Bose disciple. Great comfortable (even when on the wrong way for a couple of hours without realize it), absolutely great sound, and very good battery life.

I recently graduated college with my masters and love using them to study or simply being deep in thought with the ANC feature. However they were stolen. Now I only have the memories of studying together, getting ready for football games, long walks, and helping me with my mental health. Holding one hand on one ear cuff was a killer feature so I can talk and hear my surroundings. I highly recommend and I know the M5 may be even better.

Holy Sound Batman

Awesome ANC Headphones

I travel heavily for work and the noise cancellation is optimal. Zero noise from the airline or any crying babies makes this a plus to have. Allows for easy focus on what you’re listening. The sound is impeccable. Crystal clear and I don’t need go above 75% of volume capacity to hear at a good volume. Connects easily and the sound adaptive feature makes listening at home or on the plane seamlessly simple. Comes in a nice case with charge cable and aux cable for connection to in flight entertainment.

Worth the money

The cord unfortunately does not have a mic but you can make calls with the bluetooth and the other person will hear you clearly, The plastic is sturdy and light weight. Battery life is good!

I did a LOT of research and analysis before making my decision. I compared the Sony with the Bose 700 and Apple AirPods Max. The price point alone was a significant factor in my decision. But there were other important reasons I decided on the Sony. The noise cancellation technology is excellent. I have used these on several plane rides and it cancels out all the background noise. However, when important announcements come across, the voice recognition technology allows for those important messages to come through. The sounds quality is what you have come to expect from Sony. Great sound and deep, rich bass. The battery life is excellent. And if you're running low, a quick charge gets you going again. Overall, these are exceptional headphones. My 2nd pair of Sony's and a great purchase for the money.

Very good headphones

I read some reviews saying that they don't fit well for them but for me they fit really good and stay comfortable over a long period of time. The ANC is really good as well, i barely hear anything with these on.

Great all around sound with extra bass.

The highs are second to none however the bass was really lacking. I returned them and got the MX4s. All I can say is wow! Sound quality is awesome and the bass is deep and loud. The app allows for adjusting the sound and I was blown away. Definitely a keeper. Bose does have the option in their app but it does little help for bass. The MX4s headset is great for plane flights. With all the noise on a plane, the MX4s block it all. The Bose 700s left me with a earache due to the air pressure, I didn't get that with the MX4s. Great job Sony! I fly very frequently and both headsets have their plus and negative. To me the MX4s do what I need them to do. I'm bass heavy so the MX4s are great for me and the 360 sound is amazing. If you like sound clarity with light bass; go with Bose 700s. If you want clarity and good punchy low end bass, go with the MX4s. Sony did a better job when it came to all around sound. That's my 2 cents.
