These headphones are better than I expected. The sound is great and the fit is amazing. The only downside is that it is not soundproof

The best over the ear wireless headphones. everything you could hope for. Long battery life, good volume and sound clarity, Very comfortable. They are soild all the way around, you won't be disappointed, better than my Bose NC700.

Very good headphones. Was deciding between the Beats and the Sonys and I’m super glad I went with the Sonys! Super comfortable, light weight, noise canceling, and great sound.

For the headphones that are considered the models to beat in the world of active noise cancelling Bluetooth, these are remarkably mediocre. They aren't terrible by any stretch, but they just aren't great. For the $300 price range they seem to hover around it's not unreasonable to expect more than one or two great features. After a week with them and deciding I didn't want them my wife tried them and decided neither did she. We will be returning them shortly. Their packaging is impressive. For a pair of over-ear headphones the fact that they be kept in an included hard case the size of a hardback book is really shocking. The case has room for a charger, a standard aux cable, and even includes a little adapter for airplane audio. There's also enough space for an additional dongle, like maybe a wall plug or my AirPods Pro. They were designed with travel in mind and that shows in the case. The noise cancelling is amazing. When it is set to full there is simply no noise. They don't strongly deaden the noise, they basically eliminate it. It's obvious that part of it is simply from their excellent build, since with noise cancellation turned off they sound like I've buried my head in a pillow. Turn the noise cancelling on and it's like being in an isolation chamber. But turn the noise cancelling to transparency mode and the cracks start to show. Transparency mode is, in a technical sense, piping the outside world in. In these headphones that is exactly what it sounds like. Like I'm listening to the real world through a pair of tinny speakers. It may be nice for a sentence or two listening for a pilot's announcements, but every time I tried to have a conversation with it on the delay and the poor sound quality made it utterly useless. On top of that it doesn't offer much directionality, so if I wanted to hear someone coming I could determine that they were coming but not from where or how far. The sound quality itself is tolerable, not unbearable but not particularly good. Maybe in a noisy environment the strong bass would be helpful, but both my wife and I found that it simply made the vocals harder to hear. I almost considered it an advantage when working since I could put on some music and the quality was mediocre enough that I didn't want to jam out to it. That's not exactly a great sales pitch though. "Spend $350 and you won't get distracted by enjoying your music too much." Admittedly I did not test out Sony's LDAC codec, which might have helped. But when the music format I'm already using sounds really good on other devices I own I am not going to invest in a new format for a single device. The fit wasn't good at all. I have a decently large head and found that I had to really fuss with the earcup angle to keep my inner helix from rubbing on the driver. My wife has a fairly small head and even at the smallest diameter the top of her ears were getting pushed down. That said the lightness certainly helped with long term comfort. The controls were, to be perfectly blunt, borderline unusable. With nearly everything being controlled by touching the right earcup it was a wild guess if anything would work. Can't touch too softly or too harsh. Have to place it correctly, not too high or too low. Play/pause was basically non-existent. It's supposed to be in the center, but it always took about four tries at different places for it to work. Sometimes I just hit the side of my head several times and hoped for the best. Volume controls were uselessly incremental, taking several swipes to adjust to any meaningful degree. Turning the noise cancelling on or off via the button on the left ear cup was a guess, particularly because a long press on that button recalibrated the noise cancelling mode. I suppose perspective is everything. If someone had never spent a few hundred dollars on headphones before these would have been great. And maybe if someone is constantly traveling the small size and travel features would be pleasant, though I think you could do better with a pair of active noise cancelling earbuds if size is really a concern. The rest of it is so mediocre or unusable that I couldn't imagine a situation where I'd want to bother, certainly not for $300+. Maybe they'd be an easier recommendation at the $170 range.

This headset was an upgrade from the XM2's. The biggest changes are to active noise cancelling and build quality. After using both headsets side by side, the active noise cancelling is much better on the xm4's than the 2. This headset is also lighter and makes it easier to have on for extended sessions. Battery life does seem to have taken a hit but this can be improved by disabling "speak to chat" and "DSEE Extreme". I didn't find any noticable reduction in sound quality by turning DSEE Extreme off but did gain quite a bit of battery life. All in all these are an excellent set of headphones, you won't be disappointed. P.S. Its also awesome that you can connect multiple devices via Bluetooth and switch as needed!

I love my new headphones. The design is chic. Goes with all of my outfits! The sound is great, noise cancelling is amazing. I like how the headphones adjust to whatever I'm doing.

Excellent sound quality and comfort while wearing. Touch controls work well on the right ear cup. Battery life seems good as I used them most of the day for video conference calls as well as some music in between.

I love these headphones! They sound really good, they fit comfortably, and they last long. The Bluetooth connects quickly and reliably. The app in not the best but it is functional. These are top of the line headphones.

I have recently purchased this Headset for the Noise-Cancelling feature and it didn't disappoint. It is super comfortable and I can wear it all day and not even notice it. You can pair it to two different devices simultaneously, had a little trouble setting up my iPhone and Windows Desktop but once the firmware update installed it works. One downside in Windows is that it treats the headset as two different audio devices, a windows audio and hands free device, which cuts off my music when a call comes in in Windows. I wish I could hear the music at much lower levels when I do get a call, I have a much cheaper USB Headset that does this because it treats the audio as one device instead of two. Other than that I love this product, switching between devices is great. I can be listening to music on my iPhone and answer calls on the desktop and it will automatically switch back to my iPhone music when I hang up the call. Pros: very comfortable, awesome sound quality, and you can connect to two devices at the same time. Cons: not so easy to set up on multiple devices at first, windows treats the audio as two different devices and not a big fan of speak to chat feature, rather use the alternative of holding the right ear cuff to talk.

These headphones are great. I had the XM3 but the best selling point was ability to connect with multiple devices at the same time. Often used for travel, noise cancelling/isolation is very good, almost scary good. I like the ability to automatically detect for certain sounds or quickly turn off noise cancelling when needed. For sound quality, there's a very balanced sound. They don't have the strongest bass or the loudest max volume. Overall very well worth the price, especially if you can catch them on sale.

I've been wanting a comfortable set of over the ear ANC headphones. Went back and forth between the Bose QC35s and the XM3s. Finally decided to get the XM4 based off other tech reviewers. They sound great, light and comfortable.

Excellent feel around the head. Comfortable to wear for running and working out. Sound quality is excellent especially if you customize your equilazation. Best option for something more reasonably priced

Absolutely worth the cost. These noise cancelling headphones have never failed me - they accurately filter out noise and have excellent battery! Excellent for travel.

After starting small I bought a pair of Sony 900’s. After realizing how good a pair of solid headphones were I decided to try for the next level. Enter the 1000XM4. The clarity and bass in these really let’s that low guitar grumble and the app with the equalizer is a must have. I was shocked to find out most $300+ headphones don’t have an app that includes an equalizer. If you want great sound, awesome bass, & the ability to customize the eq to fit your type of music I highly recommend these. They really are next level. My only gripe is the sensor that is supposed to stop your music when they are removed isn’t working. I believe it’s a software issue that will be fixed in a future update. If not I’ll just exchange them for new ones because of Best Buy’s excellent exchange policy.

The sound and noise cancellation is fantastic. The battery last too long. I have other headphones but this one is best.

I love my sony headphones, they are super comfortable and very easy to use. The app features are great becuase you can connect them to another device and they will switch connection based on what your doing. Battery lasts long and it takes less than an hour to get a full charge. Noise cancelation is excellent!

Love these. I bought as a gift for someone who is not so tech savvy and she is able to use them without an issue. I have the earlier version (WH1000XM3) myself and the noise canceling on the Sony headphones is unmatched. Great Sound Quality. Extremely comfortable as well.
