I have Soundcore Q60’s that do much better sound deadening overall, and are a fraction of the price. Sound quality also was not great compared to open back headphones. I would recommend a pair of cheaper headphones for sound deadening and investing in a good pair of open back headphones for when sound deadening is not needed

We appreciate your feedback regarding the noise cancellation of the headphones. To make maximum use of the Noise Canceling function, set the Adaptive Sound Control to off (via Sony Headphones Connect app), and manually adjust the Noise Canceling or Ambient Sound Control. The noise canceling function is effective in low frequency ranges such as airplanes, trains, offices, near air-conditioning, and is not as effective for higher frequencies, such as human voices. To ensure optimal performance with noise canceling, please refer to the steps and guidelines from the link below.

The noise canceling function primarily works for noise in the low-frequency band (train, airplane, engine noise). Although noise is reduced, it is not canceled altogether. Sound is impressive and noise cancellation is reasonable. My guess is that the Apple headphones are more comfortable on the head after a while, but these aren't bad at all.

The WH1000XM4 supports multipoint connection. This means that the headphones can switch easily between two audio sources without needing to go through the normal Bluetooth reconnection process.
