And that’s coming from someone who has the 3rd gen of them (they got old) Apple AirPods Pro Max (too heavy!) and short-term tried 2 Soundcore models (NC isn’t strong enough, and a little uncomfortable) Sony’s WH1000XM5 can’t be beat. They’re well designed, comfortable, sturdy, and the noise canceling is out of this world! Purchased two at Best Buy with my Total Tech membership for that 2 year coverage, that’s a match made in heaven! My spouse and I love them!

Great Headphones - Just don't fit my ears

The sound was a little better and they were much lighter. After almost 2 weeks of using them daily for 8+ hours for work, I came to the conclusion that my right ear was not comfortable in them and I could feel the inner lining of the ear cup pressing against my ear. I dealt with it for 5 more days than I probably should have. It made my ear sore from the pressure and rubbing. I am really upset because I liked the weight and sound quality. The ability to pair to multiple devices seamlessly made them PERFECT for me. I had them paired and connected to my work laptop and my gaming laptop. When a work call came in, it would mute the sound from my gaming rig. Overall, a GREAT headset for anyone...except me and my big ole ears...

Turn up the volume of the headset and the connected device.
Connect the Bluetooth device to the headset once again.
Reset the headset.
Initialize the headset, and pair the headset and the device again.

I love the accompanying app which allows me to customize the sound equalizer and other features. These are the most comfortable headphones I have ever owned; I wear them when I study, clean, and craft. Amazing noise canceling ability with very user-friendly ability to temporarily disable it either manually or by voice. Easily one of the best tech purchases I’ve ever made.

Noise Canceling Heaven!

I've had them for almost a year now and they're still holding up better than ever. These headphones are user friendly, super comfortable and worth every penny. Great headphone sound and price point.

I own both and the MX5 has far greater noise cancellation with the same tone quality as MX4. More ear cup space makes these retain less heat and therefore more comfortable. If youre flying as much as me, the noise cancellation is scary good on a plane (no crying babies). I highly recommend these headphones and the Sony app offers very adaptive tuning.

Now, because she deserve them In had to buy another one for her. Once you wear them, you don't want to take them off, the noice cancelling feature once you touch it is supperv!! Comfortable, easy to get used to it.. Wich I can wear it at work!!

The Built-In Microphones in Both the Earpiece is an Innovative Masterpiece. One Example is, I owned a Pair of XM2 (of the multiple I've owned) for a period of 3Yrs& 2Months. and worked as good ax the Day I bought them. I'm Wheelchair Bound with a Back Pack affixed to the Back of the 'Chair'. Had it Not been for them being STOLEN out of the Back Pack while I was on a Community Transit Bus I WOULD Still have Them. I had taken them off & put in Bk Pk for just a minute due to mechanical Wheel Chair Problem. When after getting off the BUS & Trying to get them, They WERE GONE. NOW, I CAN SAY I'm Glad because I was checking for Headphones again after checking the 4 TOP BRANDS Over and Over SONY WINS 'Hands Down' over ALL Others. SONY Wins in ALL My CK Points, Style, Head and Ear Comfortability, Personal Cosmetic Appearance Value, Multiple Options for Every Imaginable Listening AND Hearing Preferences with the Microphones in the Ear Piece is ABSOLUTE GENIUS. The Pleasantries and Functionality Abound in This Excellent Display of Space Age Technology. SO, This is a testimony to the Days and Hours along with the Miles I put in Testing and Trying Out THE TOP BRANDS and Comparing Them. All to Find the BEST Headphones I could Buy and AGAIN SONY WINS, ALL the Others could Not Even Compare. I had the xm4 but then they broke over years of using them. And replaced them with these they are way better then the last ,there good for the gym and sound amazing. But my fav thing about these is the lightness of headphones they fit perfectly on my head and dont come off when im playing basketball.

XM5 vs MAX

My wife currently has the Max and it is a good headphones but I can definitely say without a doubt the XM5 are the better option sound quality wise noise, cancellation, wise and overall lightness, it won’t bother you for extensive sessions on your head like the AirPod max will
