We also appreciate your honest feedback regarding the comfort. While we designed these with a lightweight "Soft Fit Leather" headband to be very comfortable for most, we understand that fit can be a very personal experience. We suggest adjusting the sliders slightly to find the best weight distribution for your head shape, as this can often help during longer listening sessions.

"underwhelming"

I currently own sony xm-3's and had xm-4's. (which I sold for the xm-3's). This was not a downgrade, it was an upgrade. Just because there is a new version of something doesn't automaticlly make it better and that's the case with the xm-5. 1st I must say the noise cancelling in version 3 is as good as the latest edition. Also for the 400.00 price tag I cant hear any more detail from the new ones over the 3rd edition. If anything, fine details are muted. The bass is still muffled like version 4 and turning up the bass only muffles it more. The best part of these headphones are the comfort and phone call quality, which I don't buy headphones for anyway. I'm looking for sound quality, anc performance and comfort. Based on sound quality alone, I had to return these. Also, when I turned them on and put them on my head I kept smelling burning rubber. It was coming from the ear pads. Probably chemicals they use in packing from over seas. Not good, It made me sick. There are much better options at a cheaper price point. What comes to mind are the shure aonic 40's for 250.00. To each his own!

I Resisted, but Relented

Speak to chat should default to your latest selection. I get tired of turning that off. OTHERWISE? Stellar headset with amazing options, sound, and nc.

I hear almost next to nothing except for a faint hint of voices in the higher frequencies, very faint though. These are better than the MX4's. Lighter, more pronounced sound quality, ... clarity. No more flippy flop folding cans. These are perfect... hope they last long. :)
