Downloaded the app, complete control of sound settings. I can take them off and they cut off! I can put my hand on the cup and now I can talk without taking the phones off! There’s more but man!!! Love’em!!!

Great headphones with minor flaws

Bad fit. Good noise cancellation.

The sound is comparable to my AirPods but the noise cancellation is much better on these. I would caution buyers to try them on at the store before purchasing. Even when adjusted to the smallest setting, they are still too big. They put pressure on the sides of my neck below my ears which is very uncomfortable because they drop down too low. This allows sound in as well. They are also heavy on top of my head and I have to move them to a different resting place. I've seen others complain about this as well. I will keep them because I am desperate at the moment for noise cancelling headphones and these do work. They just don't fit well at all.

While we're glad you like its incredible noise cancellation and audio quality, we're sorry you've been running into difficulty and you feel uncomfortable during use. Allow us to help you and turn your experience around. Our WH-1000XM5 has a slider that you can use to adjust the length of the headband to get the best fit and for comfortable listening experience.
Note: If you put on the headset without adjusting the slider, the headset may not be positioned properly on your head, resulting in discomfort or a weak noise canceling effect. The wearing detection function of the headset may also not work properly and cause music playback to stop automatically or activate the automatic power off function (the battery saving function) to automatically turn off the headset.

Weak ANC

Sony made a terrible decision to limit the ANC on these headphones. Even if you turn off adaptive ANC, you still don't have full control over the level of ANC. I just want to have maximum ANC all the time, but Sony does not allow that. In quieter environments the ANC is weakened. There are quite a few threads on Reddit about this issue, but Sony still hasn't fixed it. The ANC on Bose & Apple headphones is so much better than Ssony.

Not for heavy use
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought these headphones at my local best buy about six months ago and ended up using them almost everyday during that time, I’m talking atleast ten hours a day and even sleeping in them. At the four month mark, I did notice the band/head piece began to bend, which probably wouldn’t have happened if I either used them less or the band was a bit thicker. Either way, they broke. I’m not saying don’t buy these headphones, they’re absolutely amazing in every other way, just not for heavy use. If I needed these for the occasional use, they would’ve been top notch.
