Pretty solid

Still tweaking a bit to find the right way to wear it for long periods of time while remaining comfortable. The noise cancelation seems pretty solid. Having to use the phone app for several features is the biggest flaw, but maybe one it shares with similar products.

The noise cancelling is much better and I think the sound is too, especially with the Sony Headphone app. They are also very comfortable to wear. The only negative I have is that they don't fold up like the previous model, resulting in a larger case.

These are the GOAT for Wireless ANC Headphones

Out of the box, the headphones sound kind of shallow and require a bit of EQ adjustment through the app, but they sound fantastic once tuned to my liking. The headphones are comfortable with glasses, and I don't feel that my ears get hot as they do with headphones like the Max’s (Which I've returned to before). Although they don't support spatial audio and head tracking, They do support Dolby atmos in iTunes, which is nice. The quality when connecting them to my MacBook via aux is fantastic and worth purchasing a dongle to use with a phone. They have a passthrough mode similar to the AirPods max, but it is actually customizable through the application. ANC is similarly adjustable. Sound isolation is poor at high volumes, as expected. Still, I was more than satisfied with the volume at which I could have them without bothering others around me or impacting my listening session, especially with the noise cancellation.

I swap between these and AirPods Pro 2. But these definitely take the lead when I want something a little more beefy. And the battery life is also excellent, I’ve had them for 4 months and only had to charge them twice. Give em a try!

These Sony XM5s are just great and aound so good. I should add that im a True wireless earbud and headphone junkie, I have around 10 pairs from Sennheiser to Sony Samsung, from higher to a few cheaper ones. The Sony XM5 are a great quality pair and i like how comfortable they are. The sound is exceptional for a wireless headphone. Im taking advantage of the LDAC streaming hi-res via Qobuz, I do have and use Spotify as well but Spotify does not have any hi-res music. There are so many options in the App to customize these to however you could possibly want them to behave and adust sound quality to your liking. My only dislikes with these is there could be a bit bigger earwell for us bigger ear people , there is however so soft memory foam in there for the ear to rest on. I have no issues wearing these for hours at a time.

They stay securely on my ears even during intense workouts, which is a huge plus. The noise cancellation feature is amazing, effectively blocking out background noise and allowing me to fully immerse myself in the audio. Speaking of which, the sound quality is incredible, with a surround sound effect that makes listening to music and podcasts an immersive experience. Highly recommend!

Yes, you can get wired fancy headphones that provide better fidelity, but this is going to be amazing for most people. Battery life, same as the last generation does about a week of light use without recharging. It's great. The noise cancelling is TOP. OF. IT'S. CLASS. you will be blown away. Airplane, travel, humm of many voices, air conditioner, running water. Whatever it is, you flip on ANC and it doesn't exist anymore. Better than Airpods Max, better than your dad's Bose. Build quality is a sturdy plastic that keeps weight down, but doesn't feel cheap at all. Swivel and tilt on the cups and memory foam pads make for great comfort for most people as well.

The battery is great and after 3 work days I then need to charge for about an hour, and it is back at 100%. I have flown twice and these blocked out so much noise except I could hear a kid screaming. When I took off the headphones then I actually heard how loud the child was. Great looking headset and my manager went and bought one, and walking around campus I get stopped all the time about them. This is solidly made and the only complaint is the talk-to-stop noise feature can get annoying so I suggest turning it off as it triggers even when eating lunch. I wear these over my Apple earpods.

Prior to owning the Wh-1000xm5's, I had the Wh-1000xm4's. After having the 5's for some time, I can honestly say that Sony is still continuing to take steps in the right direction. The sound that the 5's produce is absolutely phenomenal, the bass is great, along with the overall clarity of refined sound. Besides the sound quality, I think the 5's are REALLY stylish and good looking. I enjoy the fact that Sony has did away with the folding that is seen throughout previous models. I always thought the folding mechanism on the 4's was a little bit weird, especially when trying to put them into the case. It took me some time once I got my 4's to properly put them in the case without worrying about if they were right, with the 5's that's now fixed. I absolutely enjoy the case that the 5's have, it's way bigger than the 4's case and also looks more modern in my personal opinion. Overall, I enjoy the Wh-1000xm5's a lot as you can tell and I think anyone who decides to pick up a pair for themselves will be just as satisfied.
